BET is trash tv and it attracts to it people of the lowest intelligence and/or morals. Clearly these people are not about GOD’s business but they are about Satan’s business while wearing a mask to mislead all who worship them. Do you remember when the old people would say “all that glitters ain’t gold”? Well it turns out that the old people knew exactly what they were talking about. We all just saw proof. These so-called gospel artist just want fame and wealth….they’re not about wining souls for Jesus Christ. The book says “ye shall know them by the fruit they bear”……only people who can’t see through these hypocrites are those who have placed them up higher then GOD. I stopped buying their cds a long time ago….because i refuse to support this demonic industry. I will not be one who talks about it and then do nothing about it. God’s word is being fulfilled! I really do not like BET, it’s not really a place, so it seems, for born again, godly believers. I try not to expose my Holy Ghost to the things which are an abomination and stench in God’s nostrils. Praise God for truth! We do not have to bow down to sin and those unbelievers who try and compromise the gospel; I’m not sure why they call a lot of these fleshly works “gospel”, nothing could be further from the truth. What is evident, is that, if you get into the Music Arena, to make money, except for the move and unction of the Holy Ghost, you are probably going to have to compromise. Recently, I saw a photo of Fred Hammond, now he has an earring! for what?..it’s our flesh, no matter how much you give this rascal, our fleshly man, it’s never enough! that’s why its’ good to do without somethings’, even though they may not be sinful, they just might not be expedient; it’s about Fred and maybe God, sometimes. It’s so sad to have history replay itself over and over again, however, there’s good news, there are those of us, who have not bowed down to Baal! we should ask God to keep us humble, whereby, he uses us for his glory, because we realize we can’t do one thing without him. Why do we charge for the gifts God has freely given us; it’s for his glory, not ours; he said himself, he will not share his glory with another; I could go on and on, however, we know everyone will not be saved, some folks choose to remain in ignorance and welcome deception, it’s pretty crazy to me, but satan somehow convinced 1/3 of the (former) angels to go with him, when God kicked him out of Heaven, so I’m not moved by the numbers satan has, God always has and will out number the adversary. We must take heed to and obey all of God’s word, and let him that is unjust, be unjust still, he which is filthy, be filthy still; he that is righteous, be righteous still and he that is holy, be holy still; Jesus said “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” So, don’t be distracted by the work of the devil in such evil times, these things must come to past, but “Woe” unto the enemies of God, he is going to render vengeance to them that hate him. Let’s keep interceding for the lost, that they come to Christ before he closes the door on this dispensation. God Bless!

BET had an opportunity at one time under Bob Johnson to become a beacon of hope for people of color. However, as usual, we are so quick to sell our wealth to the highest bidder. We then complain that we aren’t doing as well as other groups. We sell everything off, we don’t groom heirs to our businesses, we get caught up in depreciating material things, it becomes about us. Every other group does better than us because they want to do business with each other. Jews sell to Jews. Latinos to Latinos. Asians to Asians, etc. This accounts for their wealth and success, and our continued failure. Bob Johnson sold BET to Viacom who doesn’t have our best interest. Vincent i could,nt have articulated it better when i first went to BET i went there because the directory said BET gospel but as i started listening to the music and watching people like Bobby Jones expound on his interpretation on God i shared with my wife how disappointed i was with this station.
Bet Gospel music awards (JOKE) might as well watch the MTV. music awards at least they have no shame to who they are working for.

I’m telling you many people have already. I had some cd’s that I used to practice vocals and directing with, but when I kept finding out spirit of Dumb stuff about the musicians (Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbett, Karen Clark-Sheard, etc.), I BROKE THEM UP AND THREW THEM AWAY!!! A few months ago, the Holy Ghost led me to write a letter to the general manager of the gospel radio station I listened to. I started slacking down on tuning in to the station a few months prior because of what I was learning about these musicians and singers and especially because two of the announcers (general manager himself and a female) kept playing KRS-One songs! In my disgust, the Spirit spoke to me and told me to share the info. I had received from ExMinistries and other sources with blasphemous quotes by KRS-One himself. After sending the letter, I kinda expected a response but didn’t get one. I was ok with that until I kept hearing his songs being played. My sister also heard some of his songs being played on the station on several occasions. I had to come to the conclusion that my work was done and if they didn’t want to take heed to the message of the Spirit, I had to move on and stop listening. About a month or so after I sent the letter and the announcers kept playing KRS-One’s songs, the station went down. I tried tuning in several times to see if it was from a storm that had come through, but until this very day…Nothing but static I tell ya! God told us to have NO fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11).
Yeah! Thats what I am talking about! Get rid of these secular “Christian” radio shows that love their secular blasphemous loser on their way to Hell music. Makes no sense to me how a “Christian station will blaspheme the living God who we are suppose to tell these sinners about. I know if someone who was a “Christian” and for the world they will tell me to shut up! But I do not care. I am glad all you heard was static. Tye Tribbet, Da Truth, Hezekiah Walker, Donna Lawrence and the rest of these adulterous fags are going to Hell.

Another question…..where were all the gospel legends? (who are still living besides S. Ceasar) these young bucks have turned gospel music into what it is: money and more money. Does anyone have the guts besides G. Craige to openly rebuke these people? Especially the artists of old who represented the Gospel of Christ like it should have been, or now have they given in to it too? How different it would be if the Claude Jeters, Julius Cheeks, Mahaila Jacksons, Alex Bradfords, and the Thomas Dorseys of world were here to witness this nonsense.
Those folks had their issues also. In the old artist’s day they tried their best to keep the dirt under cover. Today they don’t really try to hide it and instead applaud it. Today they’ll call you a religious hypocrite if you call it a sin!
Another difference it the older gospel singers knew they were carrying the gospel message. They sang gospel music. Clara Ward was considered disgraceful for being so famboyant and singing in Las Vegas. Now that is the goal of the vast majority of the singers; to play the great venues of the World and entertain the people with a watered down version of gospel songs.
Right, Elder Jimmy. Back in the day, there was a “respect” for the Gospel message, even if your walk wasn’t all together. If you were known for singing “Gospel,” that’s what you were known for; not mixing it with secular like it happens so much now.

KNOWING that a person is living a lifestyle CONTRARY to the WORD of GOD, yet we still sing the songs, makes us just as guilty. The operative word here is KNOWING. John 3:6-7 – That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again.”
When you are born again you DON’T continue to live and walk in the FLESH and perform songs with Jesus name in them. If they are still struggling with their flesh, they need to sit down and quit confusing people.

Now that’s a big mess! I’m glad I didn’t watch the whole show! All of those artists are a BIG of a SHAME! I’m glad I missed this celebration of flesh event. I am just wondering did Jay-z get to perform his black album song Lucifer at this fleshtival? I did check out some photo’s from this crazy wacked out sunday night club event slash buffet back stage slash hot steamy hotel extravaganza event and it looked like tye tribbett was playing the electric key board like he was an extra in the five heartbeat’s. I didn’t have the “pleasure” of watching the show in its entirety. I flipped back and forth. I immediately noticed nero’s broken cross sparkling on her shirt. Im not sure of what song she was singing because I kept it on mute. I watch kelly price and the other girl ( i dont know her name) that she sang with. To take such a beautiful song and mess it up. Oh my goodness. Bebe and Cece winans, I have to admit I loved there music in the past but now i don’t know where there going. Shirley Ceaser ( Mother Ceasar) what are you doing? the Older women should teach the younger.. Tye tribbett. wow! I don’t even know what that was. Notice the huge decrease in members of Greater Annointing. Doesn’t the Word talk about “if a man can’t rule his own home, how can he rule the house of God.” Let alone minister to his people. Yolanda, this is my personal viewpoint on that question: There has not been a song written, gospel or secular, that was written by someone who was without sin. This is impossible….my point is, if you are singing in your ministry a song that is Biblically accurate, although you may know the person is gay who wrote it, ask youself this: Does this knowledge nullify the Gospel message? When you are singing about JESUS you are doing just that with no hidden agendas. A psalm is a psalm; my belief is your singing would be more effective because it is coming from a heart that longs to please GOD. I hope I didn’t confuse you. Listen to the LORD and write whe HE isabout to give you, HE does not call the equipped, HE equips the called.

I personally believe that the Word of God is right by itself; it stands alone, regardless of the righteousness or unrighteousness of the persons preaching or singing it.
The Bible says in Philippians 1: 15-18, “Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.”
Regardless of the motive of the preaching (or “singing”), Paul said that Christ’s message is still preached, and he was OK with that.

I believe we will have new songs of Zion coming from unfamous, non-celebrity psalmists, out of no-name, no-fame churches… with real power and real yoke-breaking anointing. If it is Biblically accurate (a lot of these”gospel” songs are NOT) and my heart is toward the LORD as I sing, I believe GOD is pleased.
Yep; I agree with that “prophetic” word! If you want songs and worship that says “this person’s been with Jesus,” that is where we will be going–to the “no-name, no-fame” churches and fellowships! I like that.
That brings up another issue. These Christian networks tend to only focus on the large ministries of thousands as if God isn’t moving amongst the small churches and Bible groups, but only in the mega-sized ministries. They have their place, I suppose, but God is just as concerned about the small fellowships as much as he is with the large ones.
Wasn’t that the verse Paul was referring to the people that were trying to make him jealous because he was in prison and they were out preaching the gospel as if they were taking his place? There was a notion that people were misunderstanding that verse and G. Craige Lewis cleared it up a couple months ago on his weekly broadcast. My spirit doesnt feel right with the new songs i hear today. the so-called gospel music! I love songs that use the Word of God in them first of all! God is the same today yesterday and forever! that is why when i am alone in my room, praising and worshipping, I sing a lot of songs from artists who have the anointing. for one Shekinah Glory! secondly, You all are on point!!! whew, I thought i was the only one who felt disturbed @ the way those so called “Professed christian artists performed! There is a “friend of the family” here in Houston Texas that is a well known gospel musician (not going to mention his name) – he had the cheeks to contact my family to ask for them to vote for him on the dove awards (or whatever gospel award show). My brother emailed him to let him know that he doesn’t believe in the award show. I THOUGHT THAT CHRISTIANITY WAS OR SHOULD BE ABOUT CHRIST! Good words, Bro. Daniel. From what I’ve heard about the circuit, there’s jealousy, competition (and more unmentionable mess); and neither of those spirits are of God (Galatians 5:14-26). I used to love the popular Gospel music; but I love the “Gospel Message” more than the music itself. There’s truly wonderful, spirit-filled, “saved” music and artists (I personally prefer to say “minstrels” “psalmists” or “music ministers”) that we may never know about; but their love for God far outweighs their love for fame and fortune.
And it’s a shame, like you said, that the world most likely won’t get to hear that good, GOD loving music. I don’t even listen to music anymore really. Only in church. I’m 27 and have been delivered from Hip-Hop and other worldly music and don’t care at all for most Gospel music either. I’ve heard a couple Praise and Worship songs that seem to be about Jesus but that’s about it. Let’s stay in Prayer and wait on Christ’s return. GOD Bless…
Yes, all of that and MORE is in the circuit. In fact according to people I know in the industry its even worse than the secular market because the piece of the apple is so much smaller in gospel; less money and market than secular arena. The exploitation of singers, writers, etc and the financial rape of the aforementioned is very common place. This they do while claiming to glorify GOD. The industry is full of idolatry and WHERE YOU HAVE IDOLATRY YOU WILL FIND ALL KINDS OF SEXUAL IMPURITY.
I was once backsage whena very famous gospel musician came in with his entourage. As he passed by my singing group I felt a demon spirit that made the small hairs on my neck rise. I asked another group member if they felt it. They laughed and said; “No, and I worry about you sometimes.” I told her that I worried about her since she didn’t discern the spirit on that man and his people.
Most people don’t care whether or not the “artists” live a holy life or not as long as they bring in the crowd and boost their programs and conferences.
Now we certainly have NO EXCUSE to read the Bible because there certainly is no gospel music anymore worth the listening!
I agree. The newer music doesn’t touch or bless me hardly at all. I play oldies from 30 years ago that bless me more now than they did when they were new releases. Back in the day, it seems there was a healthy respect for Gospel music and its singers. For the most part, you either sang “Gospel” or you sang “secular;” there wasn’t crossing over or “let’s do a gospel album although we’re still secular” (for the most part).
God loves us so much. He doesn’t mind us making an “honest” living. So, why vex His Spirit? Be hot or cold. No one is qualified to judge another; but we are supposed to judge sin, (I think). You see, I have not devoted a lot of time to The Word as I used to do.
But, I refuse to play the fool! I know God is real, you know God is real, and “they” know He is real, too. Try all “you” want, “you” will
not get around God. You will come face to face with yurself and with Him.
So, celebrate whatever you want. But one day, EVERY knee SHALL
bow and EVERY tongue SHALL CONFESS that JESUS CHRIST is LORD! And by the way, God is a JEALOUS GOD!

How far he has gone and yet he only has folks looking for a break around him. I feel sorry for him and most of the guys that started out right. But these fags gonna catch hell from me because they molest young boys and destroy their lives.
What? I didn’t know he “dissed” Commissioned like that! They were fantastic and full of anointing, and just good, meaningful contemporary Gospel music at its best. I love their music still. It seems that things changed for them around 1990 and they weren’t quite the same after that. So this was more a Celebration of Steve and the Homosexual Revolution than anything else? Is that what I’m hearing? I didn’t watch it either.
This is not the only time Steve Harvey has cried on a religious television show. He calims to love the LORD but seems to make no effort to change his behavior. One year he said to the crowd that he will not turn the other cheek; for that “would be something a fool would do..I am not pastor material.” The people laughed as he mocked the bible. This year he said there are some moments that are “cuss appropriate”. He gave example and again the people laughed. He stands on the stage and calls the so-called saints hypocrites and they laught their way right on down into hell.
IMO Steve Harvey wants GOD but he also wants his career and reputation as a comedian. He appears torn and a little tortured. The gospel celebs want to love him into the kingdom. Steve Harvey cannot GET INTOT HE KINGDOM UNLESS HE REPENTS AND CHANGES HIS CUSSING COMEDY ACT! They can lovingly tell Harvey the truth.
As far as that crappy music they gave last night. It is all show now. I am particularly concerned about Tye Tribbett’s apparent desire to be a rock star. The arts belong to GOD but the claim to be worshipping the LORD when in actuality they are performing. A veritable flesh parade last night. I saw the replication of club moves, the Matrix and some others. Most of the music was so loud and over powering you couldn’t even hear the lyrics and all of the showmanship obscures the message.
The leader of the group FIYA did a good job of exhorting th epeople to rrust GOD but other than that……where’s Jesus? I guess He didn’t get an invitation. sigh

That’s what has always bothered me about Gospel performances. The singers riff and run so much until you are so into their performance more than you are into what they’re saying and who they’re singing about or to (the Lord, supposedly). I beleive the end result of the music should always inspiring and provoking worship and praise of God and our savior Jesus Christ, and never people or their talent in and of itself.
The Gospel have most definately mixed with the secular with the help of satans influence. Shame on those who know about this agenda and still help lead the cause. Our Lord is unhappy and we have to pray like Jesus’ return is five minutes away. These artist are more bolder and more money driven than before. Remember the Word tells us, “if pssible the very elecet would be deceived.” This is a critical time people of God, we that believe gotta stay prayerful!!!!!!

No, I wasn’t surprised, but yes, I did want to vomit. Steve was sitting there crying because of the tribute they were giving him. However………..This is what I believe Steve was saying in his mind. ” Lord, you know I’m not right, but these poor blind sheep keep acknowledging my foolishness along with theirs. As I stated in one of my previous commentaries, I personally like Steve, but they’ve got to stop putting him before the people. This man is crying out, I believe he’s in pain. Just like he also broke down on TBN with D.McClurkin. It’s going to take a true man or woman of God to sit him down and preach/teach the Gospel to him. My heart goes out to the Brother and I’m praying for his deliverance.
