Tramine was his sister this how rumors get started . She was not his wife

  2. Chong Ching Says:

Am confused who is trauma ine Watkins his sister or some one to cover his gay life

    • Vincent Allen Says:

Tramaine Hawkins was his ex-wife. She possibly was a “cover” during their marriage. It’s also possible that his death could be AIDS-related since the body’s immune system is more vulnerable to cancers. BUT, since Hawkins never publicly divulged the details of his lifestyle or illness, it’s ALL now speculation and hearsay. I believe the fruits of Love Center Church will reveal EVERYTHING because his successors will not be as clever at keeping things undercover. My biggest question is if he reconciled his personal convictions with the Word, or still believed “the lie” before passing away. A man-made gospel is quite valid while we’re still flesh and blood. But when we pass into the spirit-realm to the Author and Finisher of our Faith, Himself – it’s a different story!

  3. Ruth Carol Williams Says:

Well, now we have it, God’s Word will be fulfilled in someone! Whereas, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexualism, any illicit sexual sins, etc., believe it or not, are just as bad as lying, hating, being prideful, stealing, sins of omission, and the list goes on, so the message is to everyman, God hates ‘ALL’ Sin(s) and is angry with the wicked everyday! The sexual sins, are on the rampart, as they were in Bible times; there is nothing new under the Sun, according to King Solomon. Sodomites are still around. We really shouldn’t have to try and convince folks that homo and the likes of it, is unnatural and immoral, since God put a spirit in us, our Mind, which makes us God conscience and allows us to “KNOW” what’s good and right, from what’s bad and evil. People love their sin, that’s why they will not come out of it. It’s not even that ‘grown-church-folks’ do not know, they just like it! As nasty, depraved and wanton, as it is. What these sissy-fied males continue to do, is feed their “Atrocious, hideous, horrifying and appalling stronghold”; usually, the stronghold captures the nature of an individual, who does nothing to keep him/herself in the love of Christ, no praying, no bible reading/studying, no fasting, the basic and essentials, weapons of warfare…putting on the “Whole Armour of God”, whereby, we may resist satan, instead, they hold the stronghold captive, and he loves it; the stronghold is right at home. He gets the best of an individual, sucks the very life out of them, as he lullaby’s them to ‘death’. When one’s life consists of habitual, sinning, such as the lifestyle of the lgbt’s, they are already dead…there’s no life there…dead men and women, just existing, how sad. We must cry out against the things which God hates. If God calls homo an Abomination, than that’s what it is. I am so glad to see so many people who are Anti-gay/Anti-Sin. Hide me Lord!

  5. Kathy Heard Says:

I had no idea that any of the above people were homosexuals or lesbians.

  6. Simone Says:

Ummm HELLO !!! …… He was ALWAYS gay, and married Tremaine as a “cover-up ” !! But THAT did’nt work so they divorced… He also started his own “church” because he said other churches did’nt see things the way HE saw them ( THE BIBLE DIDNT AGREE WITH HIS LIFESTYLE) so he started his own church for GAY’S ! Just like Yvette Flounder, she did the SAME THING !! Look at his chior and you’ll see MEN dressed as WOMEN, and WOMEN dressed as MEN !!! AND ITS ALL WELCOMED !!! … Yes he was a VERY AWSOME song writer, and singer, but remember, there are GIFT’S WITHOUT REPENTENCE !!!.

    • Shawna Says:

This is very disturbing and dishonest to the christian faith. It is the same as any person in the faith continually committing sexual sin, rather its homosexuality, porn addiction, sex outside of marriage etc… There are so many scriptures against this type of lifestyle. Nowadays preachers are preaching messages to help people feel good. People need to feel good when they are striving for a upright lifestyle not when they are not even fighting the sin they allow in their life. Many will think they will get into heaven but the sad truth is many won’t. I fear God and I pray to him everyday while I seek him daily and I’m still not 100% sure i’m okay. It’s never okay to stop looking at the man/woman in the mirror – If we all did this it would combat these type of sexual sins most of us are overlooking.

  7. AngelinaS Says:

Yes Walter was gay and No he did not have AIDS OR HIV people please do your research he really had pancreatic cancer look up people who have it and see how skinny and sickly they get. I will also say this i never heard of him molesting little boys like James Cleveland who really did. If you are suppose to be christian why are you judging this man his voice and his music brought many people to Jesus. Please dont call him a molester cause he aint but GAY he was and so is his brother Edwin and a couple of more people in his family.

  8. TONY ARTIST Says:

All these so-called anointed gospel artists who will come together to salute this wicked man Walter Hawkins are no better then he was. Walter Hawkins used his position to mislead a lot of youngmen who came to him because they really admired him and his musical talents/accomplishments. Walter is responsible for turning out a lot of young boys in the late 70s and later in the 80s some of whom died from AIDS….this is not gossip but a fact. I don’t understand how we can expect our young to respect the word of GOD today when we salute a man such as this. These young people today see that as hypocrisy. James Cleveland used his GMWA to draw in many young men and he misled many souls into homosexuality. My point is this…..how can anyone of us say we are the people of GOD and uphold these type of men? They opposed the truth of GOD….in that homosexuality is an abomination no matter who does it. Have we forgotten Ephesians 5:11 and Luke 16:15? This man allowed the disco icon Sylvester’s Funeral at Love Fellowship Church and he was drapped in full drag queen dress. Now ask yourself if you think GOD was pleased with that? Walter Hawkins was just talented but his heart was far from GOD….i can tell you that by the fruit that he bore. What about the souls of all those young men he led astray who died from AIDS?

    • Amber Says:

I figured something was up with Mr. Hawkins after watching Unsung on TVONE about a flamboyant homosexual singer named Sylvester seeing that this preacher welcomed homosexuals in his church including Sylvester himself and not preach against it, and even having Sylvester’s funeral there while he laid up in his casket dressed in drag. So to hear he was homosexual was not a surprise.

  10. tacy Says:

These are the last and evil days when man will be lovers of themselves

  11. Dt Says:

Help us Lord im not supprised we really in the last day people!

  12. kim Says:

i grow up listen to Edwin Hawkins and never knew he was gay. His music inspired me over the years especial the song ” I heard the voice of Jesus say…” Boy what you do not know you do not know but I hope he found Jesus Christ in the end.

  13. Rick Says:

Its is such a hurtful thing to think of such a one being a homosexual after all that word inspired music. If he was praticing a homosexual lifestyle than he is not only lifting his eyes in hell, but he will recieve even greater punishment than a full blown sinner, because it is worst for the one he knows whats right and dont do it. Thats why he said I would rather you where cold or hot, but because you are luke warm I will spu you out of my mouth. His words in his music was right in line with the word, so that make me to know he knew better than to live a homosexual life style. But also we need to stop calling them GAY, thats another trick of the enemy, In the english language GAY means that they are acceptable and nice, this is the exact oppisite to the word of GOD. For it is written that if Sodom and Gemorra knew what we know today, they would have turned from their wicked ways and repented, but they where destroyed for having sex with men on men, to put it frankly. Be blessed the word of GOD will stand, and GOD will pull the cover off everyone who hold the truth in ungodlyness.

  14. latifa Says:

I thought everybody knew he was gay. Oh well the gays are mad because the secret is out. Sorry for ya lol

  15. MJ Says:

This is a trip all these Musicians and Pastors that are Gay. I’ve always heard Bishop Walter Hawkins was gay and Yvette Flounder. And what was he a Bishop of? So many of these TV Evangelist Pastors are Gay. Sure he had a gift of writing music but it was a gift without repentance. I hope he got it right with the Lord before he left here and he will be going down yonder not up.

    • PS Says:

The only way I can tell hot chocolate from cold is to either hold the cup or drink the cocoa. how do you know who is gay or not?

Did your Bible come with the verse about not judging or does my Bible have a misprint?

REPLY: No. You have just misinterpret the text.

Now let’s address Matthew 7:1, the scripture that records Jesus specifically saying “Do not judge” . Matthew 7:1 is probably the one scripture that is most often misquoted, truncated and taken out of context in an attempt to tell Christians to stop “judging” .

To grasp the true context, let’s take a closer look at it…

1 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye?
5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” –Matthew 7:1-5

If you have never read past verse 1, then perhaps you are seeing the true meaning of this verse for the first time. Notice that Jesus did NOT ever say, don’t judge – period. He exhorts us to judge with righteous judgment in John 7:24 and here in Matthew 7:1-5 He says first be sure you’re right with God before pointing out someone else’s sin, thus granting the right to judge.

The correct understanding of Matthew 7:1 is that simple! Verse 5 clarifies and exposes the skeptic’s erroneous understanding of “Do not judge” , by giving the green light, if you will, to judge so as long as it is not done in a hypocritical manner.

      Case closed.

      • Ms.Willis Says:

You need to go back and read Romans when the scriputures say that since they(Homesexuals and lesbians) who turned they’re natural use for the opposite sex, for the same sex, and did not acknowlege GOD, he turned them over to a rebobate mind. GOD is not with this foolishness!!!!! We need to stop taking the scripture out of context, and ask GOD to fill us up with the HOLYGHOST!!! to lead and guide us into ALL TRUTH!!!! GOD did not spare SODOM and GORMORRAH what makes you or any other person think that he’s going to spare this wicked and adulteropus generation today that is more wicked than the generation in mosses time???? You need to read St. John 3:1-8 : Acts 2:38, Acts 2:1-20, Acts 19:2-8 and do it. There’s only one lord, one faith, and one baptism.

      • nicey wilson Says:

I don’t think people are judging. Judging him would be saying if he is going to heaven or hell. People are just stating there opinion. I dont like the gay lifestyle. Its never the person its there lifestyle

  16. chante Says:

Many don’t realize how big the homosexual network is, they “run” the majority of the tops industries. You are not going to get to the top unless you compromise your sexuality. Everyone in the church don’t want to believe these people are gay but the world is calling it out better than the church. As we seen with the Boondock’s and the Tyler Perry episode. Why would anyone in the gospel industry want to be delieverd out of homosexual when it was their homosexuality that people unknowingly are praising them for. The church praises Tyler Perry for dressing up as a woman why would he want to change what made him millions. If you want to make a quick buck just run through the black church with foolishness and add comedy to it and say Jesus a couple times how sad….sorry for the rant

  17. Beronica Says:

Don’t forget the late great James Cleveland. He was a pedophile who preferred little boys. We sang all his songs at church.

  18. Daniel Frazier Says:

WOW!!! This man looks STRAIGHT gay and people accepted his music??? All of the older generations say that my generation is jacked up (I’m 27) for listening to Hip-Hop but they knowingly accept homosexuals and listen to their “Gospel Music” because it sounds nice?! Where is the discernment? I’m not judging, but we all have to take accountability for our wrongs. Everybody can’t just point the finger at my generation and act like the glory left the church when we were born! Apparently our parents let a lot of devilishness creep into the church that is TOTALLY unacceptable in the eyes of GOD The Father. The GMC (Formerly the Gospel Music Channel now the Gay Musician Channelers) has always confused me. They would play a great movie like “David” and then play, right after it, the movie “Jack Frost” where in a man dies and his spirit indwells in a snowman to be close to his son. What does that have to do with Jesus or the BIBLE? That ain’t even Biblical… Man, the more I try to understand some things, the more my head hurts. The BIBLE is the only Truth we have.

    • Tonja Says:

I know right, and I read some old material about the Hawkins Family and found out they also mixed with secular Music in their day. Things that make you go HMMM!

      • donna Says:

You’re right Tonja, they did mix alot of secular. The Hawkins family provided backing vocals for a rock/pop/folk singer named Melanie on the song “Lay Down.” And the Hawkins were the first “gospel” performers to sing on the Las Vegas strip.

    • Monica Says:

      @Daniel
The greatest wound that my generation has inflicted upon your generation is blatant HYPOCRISY! And for that we will have to answer to God! Forgive us Daniel! Some of us are still trying to hold up the bloodstained banner for Christ!!!

  19. trelsean Says:

Is it true that Walter Hawkins died of cancer? I hope while he was on his death bed he repented from the gay lifestyle and his inclusionist doctrine. I always heard growing up that God will sometime destroy the body to save the soul (don’t know if that is biblical, i couldn’t find it). Unless he had a reprobate mind i sure hope he changed while he was suffering from his illness.

    • gnp22 Says:

What you heard growing up was based on 1 Corinthians 5:5 (Read verses 1-5-for context).

      1 Corinthians 5 (KJV)
1It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.

2And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

3For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

    • Jan Says:

@trelsean, this is the bible verse you are referring to: 1Corinthians 5:5-hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord. (NIV)

  20. jenaee Says:

That is the “sweetest” picture of a dude I’ve ever seen!
How could people not pick up on that?
Where is the Christian’s spirit of discernment?
    My Goodness!

    • LadyPost0925 Says:

For real!! That definitely spells EFFEMINATE!!!!! Wow, are people that blind?? When I first read the email that he died and they mentioned that he died of pancreatic cancer, my first thought was, did he really die from that, or did they just say that to “cover up” the real truth?? I then thought about James Cleveland and that he really died of AIDS (because he was a HOMO) but you never hear anyone talk about that – people have managed to sweep that under the rug and keep it “hush-hush”. Hmm….

      • Sherise Says:

LadyPost0925, that was my first thought as well. I said to myself, “did he really die of that or was it aids?” There are many cases where they really die of aids but they’ll say cancer or Pneumonia.

        • Shafarr Savoy Says:

It may have been AIDS. You know the singer Jermaine Stewart who had the song “we don’t have to take our clothes off.” Well he died of cancer due to AIDS. If you research Jermaine Stewarts’ Biography they said he died of Cancer due to AIDS. So AIDS may half caused the cancer but they mention that he died of Cancer due to AIDS. Jermaine Stewart was a homosexual if you look at how he dressed and wore makeup. So Mr. Walter Hawkins may have died of Cancer due to AIDS. They might not say his death was due to AIDS because they may not want it to be known that Mr. Walter Hawkins was homosexual because of real men and women of God such as Elder G. Craige Lewis, myself, you guys and everyone here who loves speaks and spread the truth may expose him (Mr. Walter Hawkins) and hold up what he is doing to the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and people’s eyes may get opened, you know that the devil does not want that. So the media who is controlled by the illuminati might not want people to know that Mr. Walter Hawkins was gay to keep fake Church people in the dark to make the Church accepting homosexuality. But yes, Mr. Walter Hawkins I believe was gay and I believe that he died of AIDS because of his homosexual lifestyle.

        • Bea K. Says:

MONICA, HYPOCRISY IS A ‘GENERATIONAL THING, AND YOU CAN’T BLAME ALL CHRISTIANS FOR THIS. I’M NOT MAKING EXCUSES, JUST TELLING THE TRUTH BECAUSE YOU “MUST” THINK ABOUT THOSE WHO SPOKE THE TRUTH AS WELL.

      • gnp22 Says:

      • Tonja Says:

You know LadyPost0925 I was thinking the same thing about his illness. My daugter works at a Soul Food Resturant and when the Rich and Famous come in they sign their name on the wall. Tonight we were switching chanels, I said there’s the Walter Hawkins Concert. She said he came in not too long ago wanting to sign his name on the wall. It was kinda sad because they didn’t know him. (my daughter and the owner) said he was sickly drawed up and thin. However the 2 gay guys he was with were like, “you don’t know Walter Hawkins?” “The 1st famous Gay gospel singer?” Walter H. said, “don’t you know that song
Oh Happy Day? I was a part of that. The Boss let him sign his name anyway but was like (among themselves) How can you be a Gay Gospel Singer?

  21. Alicia Says:

I apologize in advance for the length, but you’ve got to read this…

This homosexual stuff is really messing people up and the true body of Christ has no other choice but to expose this. I need to tell you all a sad story. But first I’m going to give you a little back ground information. My husband and I are ministers and we are also both musicians. I am an Alumni of Howard University and my husband went to UNC Charlotte. We have run into a WHOLE lot of crazy folk that claim to be gospel artists and we have run into people that have truly been hurt by these gospel artists. We go around doing different types of seminars and people get violently angry when we expose this information. But I’m going to tell you a particular story that really hurt me (happened around 2004)…

When I was at Howard University, a Caucasian brother started going to my church and it just so happened that we became good friends after finding out that we both were attending Howard. He knew I was a musician, so one day, he told me that he wanted me to meet someone that used to be a music teacher at his highschool. The music teacher that he wanted me to meet was none other than DR. WESELY BOYD who used to sing with Richard Smallwood and that was the head of several choirs in the D.C. area. Any way, the young man asked me to come to a special Board meeting about a school of the Arts that Dr. Boyd was trying to get started. The Brother had been telling Dr. Boyd about me and so, Dr. Boyd requested that I come to the Board meeting. I went, and after the Board meeting, Dr. Boyd shook my hand and said that God had told him that I was anointed and supposed to help start the school. But, the Lord had already revealed to me that Dr. Boyd was gay, and so were a lot of other people in that room. When the Caucasian brother and I left, I stood in the parking lot and said, “Man, I hate to tell you this, but Dr.Boyd is Gay.” The brother was like, “no he’s not, he really loves the Lord and he does a lot of church stuff.” We talked about it for a while and I just told him to pray and seek the Lord.

A few weeks later, the Caucasian brother told me that Dr. Boyd wanted us to come to some kind of special choir rehearsal. So, I prayed and I went because I truly wanted God to confirm what he had revealed to me . And I tell you know lie, when I walked in their… Gay dudes galore! When we left this time, I said, “Dude, Somethin’ ain’t right about Dr. Boyd. I’ma need you to pray.” But the brother was star struck cause Dr. Boyd had been inviting him to his house and letting him meet gospel artists (and notable ones at that!)

A few weeks later, the young man called me and said that Dr. Boyd had talked him into dropping his current major and changing it to music business. –The boy was having some personal issues ( I don’t think his family was happy about him changing his major ) and didn’t have a place to stay. He said that he told Dr. Boyd and Dr. Boyd said that he could come live with him for a while. So, he moved in with Dr.Boyd and the OTHER MAN that was staying with Dr. Boyd! The Caucasian brother would see me on campus from time to time and tell me all about the people that he had the chance to meet.

(IF YOU DON’T READ ANY OTHER PARAGRAPH, READ THIS ONE…)

But one day, I got a serious phone call from him. He said, “Alicia, you were right all along! Dr. Boyd is Gay.” I said, “man, what happened?” The brother told me that he and Dr. Boyd were riding in the car one day and he (Caucasian brother ) started talking about how he couldn’t stand homosexuality. Then suddenly Dr. Boyd just came out the box and was like, “Well, I’m a homosexual male!” Then Dr. Boyd went further to tell the young man that he could help the boy get really far in the gospel music industry if he would sleep with him. I tell you the truth, this boy was devastated! He was so devastated that he packed his bags, dropped out of school, and joined the military. The last time my husband and I heard from him, he was on his way to Iraq. –And to this day, we don’t know how to get in touch with him.

I said all of that to say … This is what happens when people allow a man or women full of sin and perversion to come into their church and pretend to be ministers. Lives are messed over and messed up. Kids are confused, hurt and become weak in the faith. Sadly, my husband and I were doing a youth seminar and actually told this story. People were steaming mad at us. So mad, that one woman left in the middle of the seminar just so she could call her mom to tell her that we were talking bad about Dr. Boyd. Funny thing… when we minister, the kids want deliverance, but it’s the parents that be smokin’ hot!

Ironically, Dr. Boyd just died this past October 2009. –And of course there were a whole rack of gospel artists that celebrated his life as well. My question is… What were they really celebrating?

Church, lets seriously use the boldness that God has given us. It’s time to get this foolishness out of the church, even if it means not having a musician for a while!

    Be blessed and encouraged

    • Shafarr Savoy Says:

Wow, that was powerful, if God tells you to not tell along story then do not do it. This story was informative and I read it in almost a minute. Man this is sad and terrible and people at my school would hate this. This is awful and sad and I pray for this guy who went to Iraq and is living somewhere and we pray not apart from God. You know probably who is gay and who is not. Please if you could tell me who is who so I know not to listen to them and warn other people of these homosexuals. They need to be exposed for who they are. Just let me know if you can by responding to this message and I will send you my email. God Bless.

        Shafarr,

I have a whole lot more TRUE stories I could tell. And I could confirm a lot of not only current gospel artist who are gay, but also up and coming artist who are homosexual as well. But, I’m not going to give you names. This is what I’m going to tell you… If it looks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, you better believe… its a duck!

Going to Howard, and having been a member of COGIC for several years (no longer a member), I have run into alot of people and I’ve come to realize that this cliche is true. Not just about homosexuals, but also about the number of gospel artist and preachers simply LIVING in fornication. The numbers are ridiculous! -And it angers me

I will tell you that, as musicians, I can’t even remember the last time my husband and I have actually bought a cd. We usually just look songs up on youtube when our head minister of music wants us to learn and teach a song. My husband and I play songs that are scripturally sound. If an artists writes a song, you don’t know what state they were in when they wrote it. Also, not all artists truly write their songs. Average every day songwriters often send their songs to artists (secular and gospel) and become similar to what is known as a ghost writer in the book publishing world. And So I believe one of the main things (when choosing what songs to sing or play or listen to) is to evaluate the song and see if it lines up with the word of God.

Lastly, churches need to stop singing songs just because the songs are on the radio. There are still God fearing, song writing, musicians in churches. But the church doesn’t want to sing the songs that their OWN musicians have written simply because their musicians haven’t made it big! It’s soooo funny, people act like there’s something wrong with a church that doesn’t sing the foolishness that’s on the radio nowadays. And so many of the songs are just flat out dumb.

And AMEN.

Much of the top 40 gospel isn’t even fit for use in a worship sevice. It is devoicd of theological profundity and is basically testimonial in nature (not a bad thing) but limited in its scope of the work of GOD in salvation. It all sounds the same and ar too much is written to appeal to the emotions alone.

Those songs that do have scriptural language or parephrase it set to a beat or rythmn that obscures the message.

        • Sara Says:

I know God has led me hear!!!!!!!!! I had to drop my concert which was due in about 5 weeks coz there was something not right about the players. I know this may sound weird but my spirit was suffocating in a bad spirit so thick I could almost cut it and you know if it’s not the Lord. I had been praying through the entire rehearsal. These are my church brothers but whether we are ushering or closing the church whichever place God has allowed us to serve we need to do it in His Spirit.

I agree with you if the Word is half baked in the song it ain’t good to save a soul. Lets get to the Word nuff about the popularity that leads astray.
          Jesus bless you all

Very sad but it seems the “falling away” has started in earnest. God help and have mercy on His creation.

        • Brian Says:

Wow this is so true. The LP above of Walter Hawkins was his FIRST solo recording back in 1972 before he started Love Center. Hee had his sisters Lynette and Feddie and Carol singing on here. Two songs that still stick out like sort thumbs: “Stop the Pain” the words sound like someone lost and confused, ready to committ suicide. The one line in it he said “I can’t take it…BABY!!! And this is suppose to be a gospel album! They second song, “McAuthur Park” which was a song I just looked up on the internet was secular song that has nothing to do with God. What made that song stand out was a line that said “Someone left the cake out in the rain, I don’t think I can take it, it took too long to bake it. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Daniel Frazier Says:

WoW Alicia, that was a wild story. I hope that Caucasian Brother is ok. I bet that really messed his mind and spirit up. Man! Well you and your husband keep doing the Will of The Father!

    • Tonja Says:

Wow Alicia I’m so blown away and I felt a sense of devastation for this young man. May God bless, strengthen and heal him.

    • tiffany d Says:

Thank you for sharing that. I can relate as my little brother became a top concierge at one of the most prestigious hotels in Houston. When the Stellar awards were held here, he called me so upset. He said all night all of the “Christian” gospel singers were asking him to put them in contact with male (gay)escorts! He was so hurt and disillusioned. My husband and I are still praying for his healing as this affected him so much that he looks at most Christians as fake hypocrites.

    • Daven Blue Says:

Listen, that boy was not so stupid that he did not know who was and who was not gay. If you believe he was, then you should have your head checked. You say the place was packed with gay people, and you told the guy? Then later the guy moved in with Dr. Boyd? And then one day Dr. Boyd confessed to him that he was gay? That young kid could figure out what was going on faster than you. I have no idea what was going on with Dr. Boyd because I have never heard of him before. But there is something wrong with your story, and I believe that is why people don’t want to hear it, and walk as you tell it.

    • Ruth Carol Williams Says:

Sis. Alicia, I pray you are still around; please connect. Praise God for truly sanctified people of God, who continue to say no to lustful and lewd sins.I know God, said in his Word…the gates of Hell, “will NOT” prevail, against God’s Church. I’m glad to be named among those who are sanctified. Ok, time to throw all of the ‘Hawkins’ Records, Tapes, in the trash, it matters not how much I love the songs!

    • Latoya Says:

Wow. I don’t usually read posts that are that extensive, but I was drawn to your post and to keep reading it. I found it profound. I happened upon your post and this blog after having done a search online under Richard Smallwood’s name and some of the articles that come up connect him to some artist who are believed to be homosexual, but he is not indicated as being such. In fact there is really nothing on the net that suggests that he is, but you never know. I have heard stories and not that I want to give myself over to “stories,” it does make you wonder about the blatantly effeminate culture in the gospel music industry. Smallwood does not come across as being gay to me. However, I find it odd that he has never been married nor does he have children nor has he ever been known to be linked to a woman romantically. Furthermore, he has some connection to people in the industry who are known to have been gay, i.e. James Cleveland, Dr. Wesley Boyd… I don’t know. I certainly hope and pray that this man is not overtaken by sin and perversion. It would be a shame for all of his soul along with all of his good works to be burnt up only because he had a “form of godliness” but denied the Power of God within…

Alicia, if you are still on here, please reach out to me!!

  22. Sherise Says:

Music appears to be the only thing that can bring people together for whatever reason. It can usher in anything you want. I thought about all this and said to myself “I’m sure there has to be many straight gospel singers that are trying to get into the gospel music industry so why aren’t they making it?” Why are most of the gospel singers gay? I guess it really is influence, position and power. What better position for the devil to use. I don’t think people understand how powerful influence is especially when accompanied by music.

It’s difficult now for many GLBT individuals to get healing because people keep defending and excusing their actions. It blows me away to sit in arenas and hear people defend GLBT’s that choose to live and be with a same-sex lover, spouse, etc., (or whatever they call it) because they want to reach them. I find that interesting. We must show love but speak up and get educated on this stuff so we won’t continue to be fooled by the enemy. We’ve gotten to the point where anybody and anything can get into heaven. All I’m hearing is “stop judging because you don’t know them and their heart.” The sad part about it is that when we do this, things are not put in their proper light for people to receive healing and understanding, so they won’t have to keep falling in the same ditch over and over again. What hurts me is that some of these famous people are being lost while we defend them and worship them/their music. What about the person?

I would hate to see what happened if Kirk Franklin passed away. God forbid though. I’m not wishing that on him at all. What I’m saying is that I have never seen any gospel artist defended like he has been. This man has cried out in almost every album he’s done and his wounds run deep! I mean he is HURTING! and blatantly let’s you know in the songs but no one says a word. Though he literally said in a song how he was insecure. Then again, he did say “It’s all gone” in Imagine Me. I just wonder how true that really is.

I really hope that they will change and really stop this though I don’t really see it happening too much from the simple fact that they need the applaud and accolades of the crowd.

  23. Tonja Says:

I remember men’s hairstyles the Conk, the Afro, The Big Perms, press and curls, Jheri curls, finger waves, Hightop fades, Dreadlocks and lowcut shaves did I miss any? It looks like he stayed relevant to the times. The Walter Hawkins concert Tribute? they just need a reason to Entertain.

  24. Darla Says:

I have yet to hear a man with a lisp, twisted tongue, or puts an “s” at the end of most words, that’s not gay. I wonder why satan did that? I guess he wanted to make some of them obvious. Walter Hawkins falls under the inclusionist, and any inclusionist will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Oops…..was that judging? smh

  25. SeekingHim Says:

Hey…um…I didn’t know he was gay. Is this true? I don’t like to assume anything and I never knew the man. Didn’t know he did “Going up Yonder”. Is there any proof as to whether he was gay, or is it speculation? I don’t like saying ” You know I heard so and so was gay” I wanna be able to back it up. Saying, can’t you tell, don’t help me because like I said, I didn’t know him and don’t remember ever seeing him display those tendencies the one time I saw him in a recent video. Don’t know if he was gay in the past (I wasn’t born til’ 77 and didn’t really start listenin’ to gospel music until the 90′s), but was he gay when he passed? Help me out please, because I don’t want to spread rumors. Please don’t take offense, I love this site and appreciate eveything you do, but I need clarity because this is news to me and very discouraging. I hope you answer back and don’t delete me, because I really am trying to understand.

RESPONSE: Not only is he gay.

He directed the choir and was minister of music for a lesbian bishop. The one that ordained Carlton Pearson and sang Thank You Lord on his Love Alive cd.

He was also pastor of Sylvester! That cross dressing gay guy that sang with the weather girls. He was proud of that. His whole church was gay and lesbian couples.

EX Times serves as the underground information pipeline that will expose things that the media wont. Why would they tell you everything?

    • SeekingHim Says:

Thank you. I didn’t know that. It’s so sad how much we don’t know about these people and it makes me sick. I’m so sad. BUT that’s why at our church we’ve begun singing our own original songs and washing our repertoire of those artists. I am truly thankful to Ex Times and EX Ministries for keeping the people informed. Keep doing what you do!

…by the way, I’m really mad about this Walter Hawkins thing. Everytime I think of each funeral we sang “Goin’ up Yonder” I just have this overwhelming feeling of regret. I didn’t know. God forgive us.

    • elder jimmy Says:

Walter Hawkins was not the minister of musaic for Yvette Flunder. She was a member of his church at one time. He is credited with raising her as a preacher again via his inclusionist theology. He also recorded with Sylvester and yes, he was Sylvester’s pastor (?).
It is horribly tragic if all that is said about Walter Hawkins is true. But I wouldn’t feel too much regret for using the songs he wrote. The writer of Come Thou Fount ( hymn) died in a backslidden state. I woud never stop singing it because of that. It is what stands in the judgement seat of Chirst that counts. What was of wood, hay stumble willbe burned and consumed if he was a believer at all. If he was not ever a believer than he had profited the world (so to speak) and lost his soul.

  26. GodzChild24 Says:

This is craziness!!! So, all these so-called gospel artists are paying tribute to a man who died as a homosexual? I don’t get it. People like Bobby Jones and Donald Lawrence have the same demon spirit and all they are doing is celebrating is homosexuality. What ever happened to telling the person the truth about the Lord’s Word and how homosexuality is STILL AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD!!!! I feel sorry for him…Smh

  27. Zealot4Christ Says:

Calling evil good and good evil. This looks like another convention of lust demons!

  28. PsalmistForJesus Says:

WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS GOING TO PROVE? Performing Sensual (so-called) Christian Music to a Dead Gay Guy… I won’t be able to watch it but I hope Exministries will watch/download the show and expose this Homosexuallity, Witchcraft, Poision, Sensual piece of mess that Pastor G. Craige Lewis has been preaching against for so many years!

Let me say this as well, I listened to Byron Cage’s new album on Sunday at church and I am telling you the HOMOSEXUAL FLESH TYPE SPIRIT is in there once you hear the 1st 2 tracks, I felt like getting a groove on to that remixed Gospel version of Slow Jam Disco but the holy spirit said NO because Disco was created by the Devil for Homosexuals and I refuse to be one in Jesus Name!

    • Tannie Says:

I plan on watching. This stuff amazes me!! I have become extremely analytical to everything I lay eyes on. A lot of believers are so naive to this mess; as I once was. Got to expose it for what it is and help others to see truth.

  29. Michael P. Says:

I never heard of Walter Hawkins. He looks fruity on the album cover but was he openly gay? I didn’t find no info about it. If he was openly gay i’m sure these gospel artists knew about it but if it was not known publicly they wouldn’t know. I’m not talking about the suspect ones like Mary Mary, Yolonda Adams and Donnie.

    • Daven Blue Says:

Also, Jesse Jackson was there. And President Obama sent a letter to the family. I didn’t know that they were gay. Man is everyone in the world gay?

  30. Darron Says:

I don’t know who he is but his picture tells me all I need to know about him. SMH

  31. JeTua Says:

That picture of him is a trip, and something told me thst bobby jones and donald lawrence would be present.
