The bible clearly states that in the last days many will be decieved, many will come in his name.
As followers of Jesus Christ we really need to stand up for what we believe in and not compromise. You will never find an unbeliever compromising what they strongly believe in. So why are we?
We cannot mix light with darkness. Yes i understand that Mary Mary claim to want to reach the unbelievers, but that does not mean that in order to do so they need to do a collaberation with a non believer. As belivers we should not be surprised or shocked because we are living in the last days, God is coming sooner than we think. We need to be ready for his return. There will be many more worst things to come. All i can advise you is to guide your heart and mind, stay in God and constantly hunger for him.
This is shocking! First of all, they’re probably just doing this to get money. Second of all, I don’t buy their music because they are a little too much on the carnal, secular side to me!

Wow, it’ so disheartening to see and hear things like this. This christian walk is not a game and unfortunately too many individuals that are confessing to be christians carry themselves in a manner where obviously they think it is. But I guess the word does say you’ll know a tree by the fruit that it bears.

The biggest problem with the Gospel arena is this: They are not wanting to truly be set apart. If you truly are to be set apart and walk Holy you cannot live like the world in any way that matters. Music is a medium that can draw people. Even against their will. Mary Mary unfortunately believes that in order to spread the Word of YHWH they must conform to today’s idea of what will bring people to Yahshua. Only the Holy Spirit can accomplish this. These so called Gospel artist have conformed to hip hop and that is of a different god. So, all that Mary Mary has accomplished is to draw young folk to the enemy. If you are having a hard time believing that read what happen at Mt Nebo when the children of Israel made the golden calf and tried to put YHWH’s name on it by building an alter to HIM and then proceeded to mix the Holy & the Profane together. 3000 died that day because YHWH will have no part of that kind of worship. And HE has not changed.
Huh o_O? Victor, Who cares where you come from. It’s how you’re finishing and they are not in line with the word nor are they living the life of Christ. For example; if you’re professing to be something, be that and not opposite of what your mouth says. Many people will come in ghe name of the Lord and are not.

I agee, Matthew Bio! And why does everyone always say “He or she ‘grew up’ in the church”? I “grew up” from the hood, do I maintain that mentality? NO! You observe the person’s PRESENT, not their PAST! I REALLY wish real gospel singers would STEP UP and sing only for CHRIST! This is so sad. When secular interviewers ask questions, even trying to get the artists to take a stand, and they consistently back down! How disappointing! I just heard them at a Christian women’s conference and their tune was totally different then. This is sad. Stand up, stand up for Jesus! And watch Him stand up for you!
A little too spiritual!!! FOR REAL!!! I don’t think Jesus would have been snappin to nate dogg or anyone else like him. He would have been witnessing to him and would have separated from him and his music. Jesus said, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. For if you love the world then love of the Father is NOT in you”….Too Spiritual, oh my… how can we be too spiritual????? We are to be spiritually minded; perfect as our Father is perfect. Meaning we are to be mature Saints of the MOST HIGH GOD!! These people are so immature.. Romans 8:6, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

My goodness I have been brought up in the church, I am not professing to be saved, I have lots of questions about religion, but I take that up with GOD not people. But where is the separation? The lines are too blurry with these too. In your walk people should be able to tell who you are serving. When you open your mouth to speak, Your talk should be glorifying GOD. If you are not for GOD you are against him. You should not be afraid to speak, sing his name. There should be no question who you are singing about living for. One thing I cringed about was when she said you can’t always be so spiritual, are we not in a spiritual warfare. So it is okay to let you guard down when you are fighting a war? THIS is why I dont go to church. If I am to be lead, Lord lead me. Not man.

I often hear a lot of people saying they don’t go to church because of the hypocricy & evil practices that happen in the church but I always remind people of Hebrews 10:19 and also Jude 1. Jude tells us that these things were prophesyied to happen, it doesn’t mean we stop going to church because people are wicked. You have wicked, hypocritical “christians” or believers of God at work, does that mean you stop working? Going grocery shopping? Going to the bank?
The Bible in Matthew 10:6 calls us to be wise, God said He is sending us out amongst these types of people and spirits. God never caused us to hide our “true faith” from hypocritical people by not “going to church” we ARE Christs REAL examples & what better place than to walk into the midst of confused, hurting, church people and exemplify Christ.
Youngblood, making a decision not to attend church is just an excuse to continue to sin. Who gets the glory in that? Answer…Satan does. You aren’t exempt from God’s judgment for the horrible decisions you make because of what you see others doing. You’re accountable to God for “YOUR” choices you make in life.
Can you picture yourself telling God this…”Lord, I don’t go to church because I was busy with my own foolish thoughts about the people in church. I don’t really know you but I think you understand where I’m coming from.
You say you don’t profess to be saved. Maybe you want to ask Jesus into your heart and be saved. You want a relationship with Jesus and not so much want/need to know about religion. Christianity is a way of living and not about religion. Don’t follow people per say, seek Christ. You still need a church home because this is where you can be fed, nurtured and into a ministry that is led by the Holy Spirit. Stop living the street or worldy ways.

Jesus says that where 2 or 3 people are gathered in His name, then He would be in their midst. Its better for 3 people to be gathered in prayer with oneness in spirit, than a congregation of 500 with mixed minds. Remember that our God is not one of confusion.

@young blood, you’re right, a lot of legalism has been brought into the church, but the true Christians would not speak like them ladys are doing…but if you don’t go to church, you are breaking a commandment that God said we fellowship together…problem is getting a bible believing church and not a world tolerating church…another thing, it’s between you and The LORD, and you will finally stand before Him, but if you are constantly reading the word, then you can be able to discern whether it is a bible believing church or some phony…i can’t wait for the rapture…hope you are waiting patiently too…east africa
The Church has always said that secular music was of the devil..that it was satanic.. back then it was heavy metal & rock n roll.. They would play the songs backwards and what not.. and find the hidden messages.. Now a days not only is it blatant satanic worship where you can see all the symbolism & gnostic beliefs but we have so called Christians merging with the world. I thank God for the Holy Ghost because it could be me saying “it’s just music” or “They are reaching the masses” but i see it for what it is.. They are compromising the Gospel.. Why would anyone take what the word says and try and twist it to fit their needs. Of course we are to witness to the lost..but we are to present them with Jesus..not appeal. This is salt that has lost is savor.. We have to stay in prayer & in the word.. if they r doing all this now.. I can’t imagine what is to come.

@ Carmen, the church is you and me..The Body of Christ, problem is, we the believers, have acknowledged and embraced and spread wickedness…then we end up claiming the church has fallen…which is true…the devil has made it possible for the church to fall…but not giant except Goliath stays down unless killed. and when down, the only way to go is up…so we are rising up and exposing the evils we first let into the world, and we are making it right this time…
its really simple to me. either you are singing gospel music to uplift and promote the message of Christ, or you are doing it for monetary gain, and popularity. and TRUST that if you’re an artist affiliated with a major label, or an independent label with major distribution, YOUR “ministry” will be controlled by executives WHO ARE UNSAVED and who are only concerned with record sales. so these execs hire WORLDLY musicians and producers to create a product that sounds WORLDLY and appeals to the WORLD. then they package you in that marketable (WORLDLY) image. then they tell you that you cant do that gig at some unknown, up and coming ministry, because they need you to do that 106 and park interview. pretty soon you will have rappers doing cameos with you at the stellar awards. i really think that folk who are really serious about gospel music MINISTRY should STAY COMPLETELY OUT OF THE “GOSPEL” music business. for they are TWO different things with TWO different and OPPOSING agendas.

The Bible speaks of the believer as being seperated from the world. We are not to participate in or condone the activities of the world. We are a chosen generation and a royal priesthood.
We are to be a light in the darkness. We are not to be dark to reach the dark. What sense does this make? How can one drowning man save another? Real gospel music should be showcasing Jesus not us. You are so right and so on point. I use this website too. Many times the Holy Spirit revealed to me that so much that is done in Jesus name is business like the world. Just like the money changers in the temple.
The bible says to keep separate from the world don’t imitate the world. So you can say its the message, not the beat but do not imitate means do not imitate them. God knows better than anyone.

I met Mary Mary in person, at at radio station in NY, where I met a lot of “celebrities” either way, I was not impressed they all need Jesus. I almost could not tell the difference, if I never hear of them I could even notice that they were gospel artist. The bible speaks about women dressing in modesty and I have to say their pants were so tight, it was shameful.. they were dressed no different then Mariah Carey, who came in not long after that in tight leggings and tank top.I love this site, it is sad to see the state that this world and our own people are in. We in the body of Christ is called to restore, renew and revive those who don’t know him back into the family of God. We don’t want our Lord in Savior to say unto us. You praise me in song, and with your lips but yet your heart is so far from me. Lord help us this day. Create in us Oh God! a clean heart n renew our spirits. We must study the word of truth daily that the “Holy Spirit” can rightly divide what’s of God in what’s not. We must always plum the line to see what ever it is b of God through the Word. not God. The Holy Spirit is our guide that leads us into all truth. Rely and depend of the Holy Spirit to teach you, lead you, and guide you. The Holy Spirit will never lead you astray. He is all knowing and all power. In all we do for Christ let everything be with the intent to provide wisdom, knowledge and understanding in Love. For John 3:16 states that God so loved us that he gave his only begotten Son.. Love gives. It truly is a difference between being talented and annoited, and Mary Mary is simply talented. We’ve been bought with a price n we r not our own. God’s Word clearly states: Seek ye the Kingdom of God and all his righteousness and he shall direct our path. So we don’t have to seek the world’s ways, ideas, nor their lifestyle to win souls unto our heavenly Father. I know that Mary Mary is hypocritical and they are taking a double standard with the usage of the word VERBATIM. If you claim to be different in your walk of Christ then your lifestyle and associations must be the same way also. Contradiction is what is spoken when it comes to Mary Mary achieving success in the secular industry by values of compromise. Music is a powerful component that can cause an individual to do things that they would never do simply because of the subconscious messages and subliminal undertones that is repeated in the songs that you hear. Now when you sing songs that impart spirits they will attach to you and it will stay in your hearts and minds for a long period of time.
I was reading Mary Mary’s word VERBATIM in a magazine where they stated they ARE going secular because gospel don’t get to the TOP 40 Chart. They are about EVERYTHING but Jesus and Him crucified. When I read their own words, I was completely convinced. I never cared for them as artist because they have no standard of holiness in how they carry themselves and are NOT Gospel Artist. I believe wholeheartedly in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, therefore I listen to Gospel music. They are NOT gospel artist and never wanted to be. They are about the dollar bill and they will sell themselves to the HIGHEST bidder. So sad, so very sad!!!

The “BEAT” of a song is very well the message just as the lyrics are. Think about it like this, most people would not even know their ABC”s without the song. They dont even mention Jesus until the get to the last part of the song. By then its too late. So dont say that the message in a song is not the beat, cause it is. If a song dont even have the right beat to it people wouldnt even listen to it

If that’s the case, tell you hairdresser, barber, local supermarket, and tv commercial directors to stop playing secular songs. As a christian, you can’t help but to hear secular songs no matter where you go. But at least ExMinistries gives you true exposure to what you’re hearing so you would be educated likewise!

The fact that they’re bending to the worlds will only shows they’ve been hauled into secular music. They think they’re out there, singing to preach the gospel when the people are only enjoying the music. Nothing more, nothing less. Those who come to God truly seek his face and if you go to someone who openly rejects him, what makes you think that you’re 3 minutes of singing will change anything? too many people think that gospel music is only for Christian people but in retrospect what Mary Mary said is very goo. They are not trying to reach just Christians but every soul and if the music that they make can touch a sinner’s soul and make then come to Christ…what is the problem!
Marquise, Christ said, “If I be lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me.” That lifted up doesn’t mean to simply say His name in a song! That particular lifted up means to be separated from the world! Christians can’t lift up Christ if they are not separate from the world!
Wow! Thank you Holy Spirit! To be totally honest with all who read this, I’ve read that text of scripture several times before and it wasn’t until this very moment that this meaning was revealed to me and I received conviction that in every ministry Christ must be separated from the world by using His Word and ONLY his Word! If what we do doesn’t indistinguishably separate us from the world, then who are REALLY serving!
@ Malik, I totally agree with you. John 4:23 says it best, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” We shouldn’t have to conform to the world to please God or win souls.

God fearing woman would not dress the way they do or promote people that sing or rap about killing and drugs.
I have a question, how should God fearing woman dress? I’ve seen some of the things they wear & I feel like it’s ok, But it is possible that they have worn something that wasn’t appropiate & I just didn’t see it. I feel like yes women of God should dress appropiate but what is appropiate? Do we have to wear dresses down to the floor? I just feel like sometimes we past judgement on things that are not really important. God looks at the inside not the outside. I really don’t know that much about Mary Mary so reading this has been very informative because I have kids that listen & praise dance to alot of thier songs & if they are not who they portray themselves to be I want to know so I can make better choices before I buy “gospel” music.
@ Marquise, the Bible says that “you will know them by their fruits.” If they were truly singing for God, they wouldn’t associate with any secular artists, esp. the types of artists that they’ve associated with. Have these artists that they’ve associated with turned away from their wicked lifestyle and wholeheartedly turned to Jesus, or did you go and buy their latest album that’s more filthy than ever (or know someone who has)?? The Bible also says that to “have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness”, and to “abstain from the very appearance of evil.”

This is sad. The church is compromising with the world. For God tells us to have no fellowship with the world. If we are friends with the world, we are enemies to God. We do not need to change the gospel or preach it a different way or change the music to worldly music in order to reach the world. If the heart is open to recieve the Lord then that person will come to God just hearing the plain word of God. We do not need to alter the word of God to bring people to Chirst.
We really need to STOP saying that the church is compromising because seriously…they are the ones doing it. They are confessing whats true for them but they DONT represent the church in that position really. God still has some that are not selling out and refuse to.

The great falling away (2 thess 2:3) apostasy is well under way, I seem to recall Jesus saying “Be hot or cold or I will spew you out of my mouth” people are always ready to accept a god that does not require accountability, the god of this age has blinded them with the kingdoms and riches of this world, they profess to know God but in deeds deny him, they honor him with their lips but their hearts are far removed. They went out from amongst us that it might be shown they were never of us. Remember “friendship with the world is emnity with God, whoever makes himself a friend of the world is the enemy of God” James 4:4
And they were right, their music IS FOR THE WORLD!!! That anti-Christ spirit is fooling the very elect, and they KNOW better. Holiness is beautiful and it can be seen way above any model or princess you should ever stand next to. Holiness stands up and won’t let you defile yourself or make a mockery of the Gospel of which you represent. The spirit of conviction will eat at you like no tomorrow! I am a witness of it. As a song leader, I check myself even when I’m in my house alone, just me. I’m not glorifying myself, I’m just letting others know that true holiness wouldn’t even let you go on television to be interviewed by anyone unless it was a true saint of God getting the Word out to the nations. That’s what these gifts God gave us are for: to share, to save, and uplift Him. It’s a shame how fast people forget God, even the Traditional one, smh. But then again, time is winding up and these things must come to pass.

These particular artist completely make statements that are not at all in line with scripture and NO their songs wont be heard in heaven because heavens songs are released by the Holy Spirit which is not tainted with the world. You don’t have to have cursing, naked women in videos for it not to be of GOD and these artist have shown that. You have to make a righteous judgement, why do you think we have the gift of discernment? Their music of course is not traditional gospel and certainly is NOT the gospel at all. They have a “Christian” name, and a “Christian” image, but that doesn’t mean they have the Christian lifestyle, nor that they’re truly born again. They sing songs that mention Jesus’ name -sometimes; but they’re not singing for Jesus, nor to convert non-believers/lost souls. I’ve never been comfortable being exposed period and that was due to my upbringing. I had a traditional church upbringing that lead to an untraditional way of life. I say the latter because religion is more popular than standard these days and salvation is a standard. I remember watching an awards show with Mary Mary performing and their clothing literally made me cringe. I hit the info button on the remote just to see if I was really watching a gospel show! Thigh boots, skinny jeans (and they are all BUT skinny so you KNOW how they fit), fitted shirts with cleavage everywhere…smh. Between their clothes and Kirk Franklin’s pelvic bone that couldn’t be still, I wanted throw up! I know God felt a zillion times worse. People take what is good for them, shave the Word to make it fit, seal it, and ship it…adding further confusion to prospective members of the Body of Christ. THERE HAS TO BE A SEPARATING LINE! Music was my struggle when I first got saved because I’m a singer and I loved ALL music. But JESUS was my choice! But I had a conflict with gospel that sounded like Jagged Edge, Jodeci, R. Kelly because it made me reminisce and think and try to listen to both, which we all know wasnt going to stand. My whole point of this is that I don’t do confusion or people who spread it, even make money off of it. The youth that listen to them aren’t influenced to stop clubbing, drinking, smoking, or sexing. It’s just another group with some cute outfits on, that’s what attracts them, not their message or the title on the cover. I am not perfect, but God wrote it so it is possible and I am determined not to be caught with my work undone….or listening to Mary Mary.
It is a little disheartening to hear them say what they said, but didn’t Yolanda Adams say something similar. Don’t other gospel artists say the same thing without saying it, but with who they collaborate with. But if you can’t judge nobody or spiritually discern any situation, according to a lot of saints, you wouldn’t be able to say something is wrong with this picture.

One thing I do know about the music is that it ‘s powerful. There will be no rapping, hip hop, Christian rock in Heaven only true biblical worship. I don’t believe that a lot of churches ever saw true biblical worship. I know that there are a few churches out there worshipping God the correct way. God is going to restore David’s tabernacle Read it in Acts 29. David was the true biblical worship leader because he did it God’s way and not his way. Believe me if we are not worshipping God after the pattern He has set in scripture He will reject it just like He rejected Cain offerings. It makes me sick how they use our Lord Jesus to promote there trash to the world. But they only giving glory to them self.
They both said something I thought was very profound, at least to me, and that is that if you grew up being involved with the traditional gospel music then you were alamost forced to be involved with the music industry making music. Well, I disagree with that statement and it really speaks to their foundation and the way they were taught as a child. If you remain steadfast in the faith then there is no way you would be able to be forced or even coerced to associate anything holy with the profane. Saul got into trouble with that and it cost him the anointing as king. If they were taught and trained as a child to follow God the correct way then they probably wouldn’t be going down this path. However, when it’s all said and done, it is definitely their choice to live the life that they are living. It’s their choice to mix the holy with the profane. It’s their choice to turn a blinded eye to the truth about what they are doing. It’s their choice to not heed to the warnings that God has sent their way. All we can do for them now is pray that God doesn’t turn them reprobate before they decide they want to really live for Him.
I just watched a small portion of their NAACP Image Award performance and I shut it down immediately. They had backup dancers for the performance and I am not sure if they were true praise dancers or not. It was very creepy to me. Then I read this blog entry and I am not surprised. If they needed backup dancers why did they not go to a true liturgical arts ministry and find some people there. The dancers were a little too worldly to me. Then again, Tina and Erica are worldly period. That is why I do not listen to gospel radio like I used too, there is no creativity period with these artists. With the anointed talent (singing, dancing, etc) in our churches, there is no reason to run to the world for anything. But I feel in my spirit that God is giving new anointed music that will break yokes and heal people.
I always felt like Mary Mary was very carnal and would always just be another ‘carnal’ behaving group. They have some songs that are nice to listen to, but I have never really ‘bought’ into them. I noticed how they dressed with their breasts hanging out, and all of this skin showing and skin tight clothing that does not DISTINGUISH them from worldly women at all. They seem TO NOT be growing into true maturity over the years, they are stuck in a serious carnal and worldly state of mind and it SHOWS!!

As a Pastor, I do not just preach for or deliver the Word of God for the people “in the church”, I preach just as hard to the people outside of the church. Is the Gospel “message” just for those who are already saved, or are we to reach the lost “outside of the church” as well?
While this may sound great on the surface, when “reaching the world” is a stated purpose, we’ll go all out at any length to justify almost everything in an attempt to reach the world. The Apostles and the early Church didn’t use music or gimmicks. It was never recorded, instructed or performed as such. Paul wasn’t on Mars Hill singing a new song, dancing and jigabooing. Peter wasn’t charging folks at the door in the theaters to sing to the Romans and Greeks. They preached and defended the Gospel. Artist who seek after the worlds approval have to dumb-down their music and hide truth in it. This is hardly effective because in music there’s coercion. So who really makes a sound decision to accepting the Gospel? Especially since their music is played clubs! Souls are getting something, but are they being converted? Bottom line, I will keep PREACHING the Gospel and allow the Holy Spirit to do His job. Too often a little truth makes deception acceptable. Thank you for you feeback. God Bless! ~ Tetaun

Jesus came for the weak, weary, and lost. that makes all of us. we (Born again Christians) are to preach salvation at all times to all people, but we are to also make sure that among us there is no false teaching and doctrines. that is what Paul writes about to almost all the churches. as Christians, there has to be a clear cut difference between us and the non Christians, preach to them yes, be kind and humble when you associate with them, but do not conform and be part of them.

preaching and teaching in CHURCH IS for the Body of Christ. then those Christians go back out as the Light and Salt. preaching is for believers, while the Word is for all. i would say focus on letting Him lead you in His equipping the flock He is giving you now. many of us need more milk and still many need meat. we need to be exhorted, challenged, and confronted with our heart attitudes and desires before they get bigger. the enemy can get his foot in the door with the slightest sin, and (cant remember the exact Scripture) one believer who sins infects the whole Body. we need to be alert alert alert! (i am touching on watching for sin because i recently had an experience in a church where believers’ sins not being recognized by leadership or properly confronted caused some to remain unfree in their sinning and others to have to leave the church.) keep shepherding. feed your flock well and out of much humble prayer before the Lord. Christ is the One who sends the workers out into the fields. pray that groups of true believers will be prepared for sharing the Gospel and that it will be received in Faith. God bless you.

When Satan was cast out of heaven, then we began to see this alien form of secular music and it has infiltrated the church and corrupted the people of God. I believe worship music should be birthed out of the loins of the Holy Ghost through fasting, prayer and an intimate relationship with God. I believe we need to be crucified with Christ and die to our own musical taste that we loved in the world of sin and yield to the musical taste that God adores. We must come to love/like what is pleasing to him – and hate/dislike what is pleasing to our flesh.

If I never knew who Mary Mary was and I watched this video I wouldn’t think that they were Gospel artist at all I wouldn’t even believe nor do they carry themselves in that manner. It’s like talking to someone on the street using words like “cold blooded” where I come from that’s what you’ll hear a gang member saying or something like that, and do we not stay away from gang members??? So I chose to stay away from there music, because in my opinion they forgot what they were singing about, who they were singing about and the purpose for it all.
The saying goes “when people get money and they get big in the world they forget where they came from” this is all in the same. Mary Mary want “Something Big” and “Something Bigger” and “Gotta do it big” as they said in their lyrics and left where they came from. They’re not realizing that all the artist they are naming yes started off in the church got money and left. Mary Mary started off in the church and are now slowing moving to the R&B charts, but trying to mixed the two. You can’t mix oil and water, they are separate elements and should God’s people be separate from the world.

Sigh…. I think what’s worse about this rapid decline of spiritual/biblical, moral, and musical standards is the BOLDNESS in which some of these entertainers associated with (Black) gospel music and ministry (term “ministry” is loosely used here) stand in front of folk (all professing and confessing Christians alike) and attempt to justify their choices or throw in disclaimers like “we don’t like/agree with everything (fill in the blank) says or does or the favorite “I’m/we’re not perfect”. Of course no one is perfect, by the way, but don’t look me in my face and tell me that the Bible allows for this foolishness.
Another way that boldness is done is with all the sampling of music used in worldly/secular (non-gospel) songs. I cannot undo/unhear what I heard/listened to before I got saved. I don’t need any reminders/flashbacks like that in any music that claims to want to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. Plus sampling is SO CHEAP! Whatever happened to being creative and coming up with some new sounds from the Holy Spirit?

RE suggestions for new ideas, for several years now I have been listening to African gospel – Ghanian, Nigerian, Kenyan & others you can view on YouTube. Some have captions so you can follow in English. Igbo gospel music by Dan Ike (Battle Axe), and Odin Jesus by Ohemaa Mercy, are a couple of songs with encouraging videos about the power of God prevailing in a shamanistic culture. I also like Sammy Okposo My God E Good O, Kijito Choir’s Simba wa Yuda (Lion of Judah) DJ Nicholas Living 4 Jesus, Sherwin Gardner, Koen Duncan, and Papa San (Trinidad/Tobago.) Just nice, I think to enjoy how other cultures and nationalities worship our Lord, especially without all the glam and need for inclusion so prevalent in American gospel music.

I once heard a message about how so many christians are practicing idolatry because they are worshipping a “god” that they have formed and fashioned out of their carnality and disobedience. Mary Mary music supports this way of thinking. Especially their song “It’s the God in Me” I think if these musicians really knew the God of the Holy Scriptures they wouldn’t write and sing songs like that. I said it before….this isn’t Gospel music.
If you listen to their conversation instead of the bumpin music, you can hear exactly where they’re comming from, and from what I’m hearing, things have gotten worse. Not good!
I sent the article from EX Times about mary mary singing at the White House to a lady who is a teacher at my daughter’s former daycare. You know to this day she has not responded to my article? The reason I sent it to her own Facebbook was because she was calling them anointed and that she could wait for their next album to come out. This goes to show me that she is a very carnal Christian. She can’t says she wasn’t warned. My husband has sent friends of his articles on the Eastern Star and Masonry to as well and do you know they didn’t respond? Yeah, people get mad at the truth! How ridiculous when you are trying to help enlighten people and all they want are their ears tickled. The same with these preachers! Although his legacy is singing for the world, I believe he spent his last year of life here on Earth singing praises unto the Lord. Only God knows where his soul is now, but I was doing some research on the web, and I think he gave his life to Jesus.

I am really at a loss for words over Mary Mary. They came to my church for watch night services a few years ago when their album the sound came out and at first I liked the cd, but then I started to really listen to the words and the meanings behind them. A friend of mine at work showed me the Truth Behind HipHiop V and I quit listening to them after watching the video. It is a trip to me how so many of our so called gospel artists sell out just for fortune and fame, but then get mad when they are exposed for who they really are. People every where are calling G. Craige Lewis a false prophet, but they are only saying this because what he is saying is being proven more and more and now they have to take a deeper look into whether or not they are truly saved and decide wherther or not to truly be saved or remain unsaved and appearing to others to be saved. There is a way that seemeth right to man, but in the end leads to destruction. Either you are saved or not there is no in between.
These two girls and a few of the others like them will never fully cross over to the secular side because that isn’t part of the deal. Satan needs his agents in the church to sway the believer into a psuedo-christian lifestyle, he is big on subtlety. Pray that God continues to birth ministries such as EX.

Wow, but this doesn’t surprise me. On their self-titled CD I remember they had one song that referred to God as an “it”. Look, God is not an “it” He is Jesus Christ the King of Glory! I don’t know if ya’ll were aware, I think Nate Dogg got saved and went back to singing in the church. He formed a group choir in the church and wrote songs from what I understand. He was doing that up until the day he passed.

I am an older woman and had my day (not so old that I don’t appreciate being well dressed and looking nice – As Christian woman we must remember; just because it comes in our size doesn’t mean it’s meant for us to wear it) , but as you learn, mature and continue walking in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, the ills of our former ways diminish and we see the error of dressing provocatively.

This is an abomination! I am a gospel rap artist(not Chritsian Hip-hop) and I don’t write music for the world and they love rap artistry. Col. 3:16 says to sing psals, hyms, and spiritual songs unto the Lord!!!!! And as soon as a gospel artist says anything different, they are in trouble!! This is happening with the well known gospel rap artists and some of the are Christian hip-hop, instead of preaching and teaching what the Words saysin their music they are becoming commercial and worldly and just want to sound tight. I don’t just rap to promote the gospel , have teachings also. However when you hear my music it is nothing but the Gospel. Out of twenty songs I probably said my name once! Let us continue to pray my people and not compromise the thiuth of god’s Word!
As an independent gospel rapper and halfway singer i cant thank GOD enough for ex minostries. When i first started all i wanted was a record deal but because of posts like these i have matured to a place where all i wanna do musically is to make sure im doing it right, in anacceptable way to GOD! Mary Mary and other artists have created their own doctrines…saying that sometimes we make things too spiritual…in this case they are making it too carnal.

I am surprised of what i am hearing and seeing about these artiste….Lord you alone know…I pray that you people would see the truth and open their eyes to your understanding.
I work at Target and I knew something was wrong when I saw their CD’s move from the gospel section to the R&B and Hip Hop section of the music section. The world knew it before Mary Mary even came out and professed this. It is such a shame. I knew there was something wrong when their first CD came out and they sang Shackles. They want the shackles to come off their feet so they can dance but you never read in the Bible where somebody started dancing after they were freed from the shackles. Jeremiah was shackled and when he was loosed what did he do? He started prophesying again. Paul and Silas were shackled and when they were loosed what happened? The preached the gospel to the jailer and the inmates that were in the prison. The bone to dance has always been in them. They love the beats and the sound and now that they confessed that they know what they are doing, with out spectulation, we can now say that they are secular artists and not gospel. They don’t even sing about the death, burrial, and resurrection of Jesus at all. It’s just a matter of time before they get Snoop Dogg to be on one of their CD’s and it’s going to be a mess and the church is going to run to it like dogs.
I have been preaching against this secular (strange fire) gospel for many years and its refreshing to see people speaking out against it. Frankly, I hear to many people speaking for it. How blind the Christian church has become! This worldly gospel music doesn’t have power, character or the intergrity of Jesus the Messiah of glory. Neither does it point people to the cross. Music is a powerful outlet that is truly being used to deceive the masses as Lucifer used it in helping to deceive a 1/3rd of the angels to worship himself. It’s happening all over again, in the Christian church and in the world alike.

Mary Mary water down Christianity in their music, look at their songs they only say God once, maybe twice (sometimes slightly more) but they never ever make the message of the bible specific or clear enough… They never even mention Jesus (maybe because that name is too much for them… LOL), I haven’t heard one song that mentions Jesus yet. Unless you can find me one.
In “I can’t give up now” you will never find them talking about Jesus or God most guaranteed. I find it disgraceful, sorry but I do.
I found this out by listening to an Artist called Jovan Mackenzy & I researched it as well, he has a song called “Tha Industry featuring IV His Son” which exposes Mary Mary for real.

The song “I Can’t Give Up Now” is Encouraging but in the wrong way, one minute it’s talking about tackling mountains “on your own” (New-Age Spirit there) and then the next minute their saying in the song “and I don’t believe he brought me this far to leave me”, …. “HE” brought me this far? who’s He? That could be relating to a boyfriend or girlfriend (if I man sung it).
Even though it’s Encouraging and it can make you cry, in the word of G. Craige you can go to a Prince concert and cry, goosebumps etc
Check out a site called Jesus-Is-Savior it will give you clues to why Mary Mary aren’t Christian, it won’t tell you about Mary Mary but if you search for people like Kurt Carr, MercyMe, tobyMac and a few others on the site you will be able to spot what is wrong with Mary Mary and any of your other favourite Christian artists…
Check their website, do they have any scripture on their website? Are they really standing up for God like those persecuted Christians? All you can see is their tour dates, shows, music, biography talking about their worldly success, it’s showing up as clear as day. Nothing relating to Christ, and if there is anything relating to Christ then their sugar-coating it really well.
