Are all of the Christian artists this weak-minded or spiritually weak that they are going this way, or joining up with the worst of the worst in the music industry? in other words, are there contractural agreements that have to be fulfilled, i.e.: Gospel singers “A, B & C” are signed to Christian label “D” who has been bought by secular label “E”. So do the Gospel singers contracts carry over to company “E” and they have to sing with the secular artists? or do they sign new contracts and willingly enter into these collaborations? I don’t like their music…but i just wonder why MOST of them are going that way. anyone can answer.

Why are Christian artists so interested in the world’s way of thinking and doing things? Jesus walked the earth as a light. We are to be a light. Light shines bright in darkness. A man lost in the dark is not helped by someone else who is also in darkness.
Christians have lost their identity. We act as if the world has the best of everything. How about a line of Christian clothing, which is fresh, beautiful, tasteful, beautiful and modest? When it comes to clothes we act as if clothing is not beautiful unless it is provocative. God is the author of creativity, so why can’t Christians design their own look?
AMEN!!! The Word of God is clear on this matter. We must not conform to the systems of this world, but we must be transformed by the renewing of our minds. I can’t believe this!!!!!!! I found the video on Youtube, it was veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery disturbing. I get that God love all, gays, lesbian and all sinners. Meaning that all, no matter what you have done, can come to Jesus. He will not refuse you however not encourage you to stay in that way of life. In their video it didn’t look like the gays were convicted of living in sin as they we coming into “Heaven”, It was more like “Say it loud, I’m gay and I’m proud!!!” the whole club concept didn’t seat well with me AT ALL!!!! When I first heard this song, even though the ladies mentioned that it was about their lives, I knew this had nothing do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt this same spirit on a number of secular songs that I’ve heard. It disturbed my spirit greatly too, big time. I would warn all those who are born again to stay away from this song, the cd and the artist. If the artists are not sensitive to the spirit behind this song then most likely the whole cd is contaminated. Not all Gospel music is Holy.

I am not able to say who one doesn’t worship unless I either know them personally, or their fruits speak volumes. After reading your breakdown of the video, I recalled in an earlier post about Kanye West’s music video “Fallen Angel”. Where it was illustrated about Gnosis/Knowledge, you know good meaning bad and bad meaning good.
Well if I’m wrong in my understanding, I pray that God will forgive me. It’s seems like they are singing about a homosexual relationship, It’s like they were battling with the flesh and they first prayed to God, to accept their relationship and because it’s contrary to what God is about they then prayed to hell, satan accepted their relationship. So the “I send it up to hell and heaven heart my heart”. Could be translated as “I send it up to heaven and hell hear my heart”.
I am a proud black woman, and very proud of my heritage. So please dont take what im about to say wrong but havent you noticed that white gospel artist, whenever they do interviews NEVER try to dillute the gospel??? And they are always lifting up the name of the Lord? And when they title their albums, its never SELF-TITLED. And do you ever notice are white gospel artist never do a whole lot of rifts and runs thru out the whole song? Their music is simply pure worship, and their messages are straight biblical. I look at artist like Chris Tomlin and MercyMe and Hillsong United, Martha Munizzi just to name a few and their music can invoke the presence of God. As a worship leader at my church, we are constantly taught that the anointing of God cost. You have to give God somethibg for his anointing ( or the God giving ability to be effective). When there is pure worship, that is when the presence of God shows up and people are changed. It is impossible to meet God and not be changed. During worship, breakthrus, deliverances, healings, the 9 spiritual gifts are suppose to operate and flow. Smh people of God its time for us to wake up and know that there is a clarion call in heaven for the True Sons of God to be manifested and take their place. Sin is running rapid in the Body of Christ and it is not adressed. Its time for gospel artist to be just that, For the GOSPEL, without the compromise. I know some Gospel artist say that there is no money in gospel but if you are truly CALLED to be a minister of the gospel thru music, its is Jehovah-Jireh’s responsiblity to make sure you are tooken care of. NOT THE WORLDS. Black gospel artist are always compromising to have fame and fortune and its time to stop.

I am sad to see that our so called gospel artist are turning away from Chirst and choosen the world. In this song when I heard the drum line and the words. I new this was not of God.We are in trouble! We rather please our needs instead of God needs by given him the glory that is due. This song does not reflect God, It reflect the world! My understanding in the word that if you are saved. You are a new person, When your mind changes, your inside reflects the outside. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Why do they look like they are at the club? Why did the guy say in the begining of the song “only special people can get in this club” Why are they singing about gospel in the club? What is going on? Did you see the homosexual? Yes! I’ve noticed the “purity” if you will of the contemporary worship music being sung by mainly white artists. I used to enjoy vocal acrobatics and what not in my music, but as I’ve gotten older and (hopefully) spiritually wiser, I find that the vocal riffs and runs can get in the way and be distracting from the message. I am not moved by any of it now. I just want a song to carry me into the presence of the Lord, or at least put my mind on HIM and not be left with “you” when the song is done. I’m with you. I love how you put it….. “vocal acrobatics”. Until now, I didn’t know what it was called. I just know I hate all that hollering and screaming and unnecessary “vocal riffs” and “runs” (or showing out). I don’t believe God gets the glory from it and it certainly doesn’t minister to me.

You’re right about the white Gospel artists, and the one in the Country Gospel genre are even better, you really can feel the anointing when they sing, and tell how much they love the Lord and what they do as well. I don’t know why blacks feel like they have to compromise this way, but your last few sentences speak volumes, and my nephew said the exact same thing. Jesus is coming very soon and I pray these folks wake up before it’s too late.

All i keep hearing is how their trying to make God attractive or gospel music attractive or themselves to this generation…Holyness true holyness is attractive. They are crossing over to far. Im tried of people talking about accepting this and that. If God doesnt accept it then why are you?? You maybe influencing them but they are also influencing you and this can only end in one way. This music will be responsible for dividing the church. They (young in Christ) will follow this mindlessly because its under the genre of gospel music. But those of us who have spent actual time with the Father know that this..is NOT of Him. The one thing that God discourage Israel from doing time and time again was the mixing of the cultures! Do they thing that He wants them to start mixing now???! God knows that soon the thing the world is worshiping we will start worshipping IF we start mixing.

If you watch the video with the volume turned off, that will tell you right there that it had nothing to do with Jesus. How can you want to introduce people to Jesus but you don’t talk about him in your music? They’re just talking about some guy they met somewhere. Their only focus is themselves, hence the tilte of their album. The dresses (or should I say paint) were distracting. I didn’t even notice a trannie was in the video until I watched it a second time. I feel sorry for the people they will fool.

Since when did God need anyone to make Him appear attractive???? How deceived they are to believe that people think God is unattractive that it’s become necessary to dress a certain way, act a certain way in order to make God appear reachable. This idea does not justify the reason these women are dressing provocatively in order to draw people to God. The cross makes God appealing. It was a demonstration of His great love for the world and an invitation to be with Him forever. If they would sing about the cross and the blood of Christ and how His life gave us a new life, then it would draw others to God and help others recognize their need for Him. The cross of Christ is always relevant. When people begin to recognize His love for them and receive His love, great changes can occur in ones life that causes them to turn a way from his/her sin.
It appears that many so-called “gospel” artist lack the passion that’s necessary to truly reach those in darkness. They present the gospel as if they are bored with it and have become quite comfortable in their luke warmness, just as the church of this day and age. I’m not understanding why they feel like they have to “tweek” the gospel and water it down to reach the world. This makes no sense what so ever.
What exactly is Heaven suppose to be hearing????? Is it for a clean and pure heart, is it for the desire that breakthru’s, deliverances and healings take place when they minster? SMH!!!! I agree with JB. People are not letting the Holy Ghost do His job. God will draw people to Him if we just share and preach the word with the lost. Our job is not to make it attractive to people. Our job is to get the word to people. When we try to make it fancy and attractive, we are relying on our flesh and not the Holy Spirit to do something that only Spirit can do. If you are using carnal and fleshly means to draw people, then you are not in God’s Will and not doing things God’s way. This is the problem the church is having and that is why there are so many homosexuals in churches now.

For instance, my pastor’s wife got in front of the congregation this past Sunday and said, “God is using Oprah as a prophet to the nations!” Wow. A whole pastor’s wife! Where is the discernment these days among the body of Christ???

As I listened to some of the words she talked about giving all of her heart to someone and she expected their heart back, but they were not willing to give it, so she gives her heart to heaven? It seems to me that whoever whe was trying to give her heart to initially woulf have took her heart then she would not have even thought about giving her heart to heaven. It is clear she’s not talking about the Lord Jesus Christ. I couldn’t even watch all of that…It just makes my stomach turn…. I have seen Trin-i-tee 5:7 from the very beginning of their music careers. My b-i-l was signed with the same label. So, I did have some interaction with them.
And one thing I will say the problem is, they were platformed before the could really have deep roots in the Word.

First she sings gospel and that dosent bring enough money. So then she goes to VH1 Divas, (I remember in the first clip of her on the show she said…Gospel wasnt making her any money.) she won but the world had NO IDEA what to do with or make of her. Hoochiness is not just a gospel industry thing. Hoochie is the new modesty in the church. Even the anointed holyghost filled and lead prophetesses and female preachers where tight jeans. Or tight jeans and 6 inch pumps. When men notice and respond according to the femles presentation they are called pervs or should not be looking. When not enough men pay attetion they get tighter jeans and present themselves in an even more sensual way. A sincere sister wants to dress modestly and follow the principles of the bible women (not men) start pushing her to be more revealing and hoochified. One day I pray at least the our sisters will take responsibility for what they do and the way they present themselves as the body of Christ.

I’m not quite following you on the “armpits” comment. I believe we’re all in agreement that those young women could use some divine intervention in their clothing choices. But, am I sensing that you may also have a problem with women in general wearing sleeveless blouses or dresses — baring their arms? Of course if flesh is spilling out on the sides and over the top and you can see a shadow of everything, then yes that’s a problem — christian or non. Me personally, as a woman of God, I’m very conscious of my attire b/c I DO NOT want to be held accountable of causing another person to lust let alone stumble.
There’s more that I’d like to expound on, but I don’t want the dialogue to get blown over the top. The bottom line is: if a “christian” woman can wear seductive/revealing clothing without any conviction, then something else is going on with that woman. Deliverance is in order.

Those who see nothing wrong with this song—with this video—the way they represent themselves in dress is a far cry from those professing godliness. The word tells us to be imitators of God as dear children. We’ve gotten it confused within the body of Christ, just because you sing well doesn’t mean you have the qualifications. Those who lead must lead by example—you must know the truth—walk in obedience—and worship Him in spirit and in truth. It is more than singing a song and showing off your vocal skills. We are called to be set apart. It’s time to pick a side—choose this day whom you will serve. When I look, and read Psalms—there I see the true heart of worship—giving God all the glory, praise, and honor. When you enter the (industry) comprise is the first thing you must do to gain the praise, prestige, and adoration of the world. They already have their reward!

The bible teaches us to pray without ceasing. The rosary is used in prayer by the Catholics, the big bead you pray the Our Father and 10 small beads the Hail Mary, and so on all around until you are done praying it. I never thought I’d say this – but the Gospel music scene is reverting back to the “BeBe &CeCe Winans” 1980s era (but now on a grander scale) – where they are making this pseudo-Christian, “don’t-mention-Jesus-name”-type of music (it makes me hurl) – ugh..
Also, the “production” aspect of these CD’s has now overshadowed the message of the Gospel. Artists would rather work with some top-named producer (and sample R&B tracks, beats, use auto-tune, etc) rather than ensure that the message of “Christ & the Cross” is heard. As an example, – remember Kirk Franklins’ “Silver &Gold”? “He’s able?” – not the best production-wise, but the message was there. Now the reverse has happened…
None of these songs are “saying anything” –
“Heaven hear my heart” – T-57 what are they saying?? nothing
“Smile” – K. Franklin. what is he is saying?? nothing
“Be Still” (I just heard this yesteday) – Yolanda Adams – again nothing …
Jesus asked Peter 3x “Do you love me?” If so, then “Feed my sheep”. As Gospel Artists, it is their duty and responsibility to make sure that happens. (I think I better I stop – not trying to give away too much of my book – LOL!!).

Then you’ll hopefully have a passion to share relevant messages that CHALLENGE people who otherwise are slipping into a Godless eternity. Just telling an aribrary person ‘heaven hear my heart’ over and over doesn’t do much if their heart is to do their own thing. ANd that’s where the majority of your audience is always going to be.

Also, even it sounds good listen to the lyrics, ex. I wrote the songs my Barry Manilow, sounds great but if you listen to the words, it is Satan he is talking about.
This song has nothing to do with God. All their doing telling God how they feel and that’s all. Their not winning no souls or telling anyone that Jesus Christ is the way, truth, the life for salvation and then you have them on 106 and Park!?!?!? Something not right because in my bible it clearly says that we are not of the world (Romans 12:2) and also Jesus Clearly states if the world hates me, the world will surely hate you (John 15:18) or (Matthew 10:22). Lastly the dresses that they were wearing….Man….. It looks like they came right from the club and they are definitely not distinguishing from the clean or unclean, holy or unholy, Godly or not Godly. They are bringing the wrong act and image of God… I pray that they will wake up and that God will show them what they are doing is not according to his word for their lives…

Like so many of the other “so called” gospel artists, Trinitee 5:7 are so being deceive and deceiving. Don’t they know that making friends with the world is enmity with God(James 4:4)?? They say they want to make having a relationshiop with God an attractive thing. I didn’t now or at least no one told me that the current format for Salvation and relationship with God is unattractive. Besides, like they’re really trying help God with those short and tight skirts they’re wearing. When I saw them, it doesn’t look they were promoting Jesus Christ, but something you ccan probably see in any nightclub in America. Pastor G, you said a few Sundays ago that there are millions of people in line waiting to get their shot to become famous in Hollywood, and would do anything or anyone to become famous or to get that record deal, and many of these “so called” gospel artists are doing some of the samethings to get that record deal. Trin 5:7 hadn’t had a album since 2007, and all of a sudden their new album debuts at #1 on the billboards…mmmmm that’s nteresting. It amazes me how these “so called” gospel artists believes by combining forces with the world that they can reach more souls, but in doing so they compromise Christ and start to look more like the secular R&B artists and rappers. They album title “Angel and Chanelle” says it all, it’s all about “self idolatry”, me, me, me, and me. But on the flip side of that we never see secular artists or rappers compromising the secularism in them to look more Christlike. Just like the Children of Israel fornicating and committing adultery in that they were engaging in the customs, traditions, doctrines, and practices with the pagan nations and strangers of that day that God told them to stay away from, we see this same collaboration being played out today in the “so called” gospel music industry. In closing, just like King Saul tried to bring back the spoils to God to offer as a sacrifice (which God told him to destory everything), so are these “so called” gospel artist are attempting to do the same. They called their talents a gift from God (which the two or no way similar), and then use it for personal gains (money, fame, fortune), and then have the nerve to say that their lifting up the name of God and believes God is please with them. Anyways, sorry for the book report but there’s a bigger picture to look at here. Matthew Knowles has fallen out with his daughter Beyounce as her manager, so what’s the next best money making gig, “Gospel Music”.
