Radio One Has Banned Music Associated With Mathew Knowles

*Last month, we reported that Cathy Hughes’ cable channel TV One was suing the BET Network, MTV andMusic World Music for violating its exclusive rights to the Essence Music Festival.
Mathew Knowles’ Music World Music is listed in the lawsuit because his company brokered the deal for the Essence Music Festival broadcast with TV One. His company is being accused of re-issuing the content BET, MTV and BET’s Centric Network despite TV One’s four-year exclusivity agreement.
Now, EURweb has learned that TV One’s sister company, Radio One, has pulled all of Knowles’ Music World songs and artists from their radio stations nationwide.
“All Radio One personnel were told to pull all Music World artists out of rotation immediately and indefinitely! We were told that the mandate came straight from Ms. Hughes and that there would be ramifications for anyone playing or mentioning a Music World artist or song on air,” a Radio One employee, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, told us.
Meanwhile, several calls to Radio One’s Senior Vice President of Programming Content, Jay Stevens, for comment, were not returned.

Removing all of Music World’s songs and artists potentially creates a financial loss for Knowles, whose company primarily focuses on gospel music currently.
“Radio One owns at least 12 gospel stations across the country – that’s the majority. It’s hard for artists to sell CD’s without radio airplay! Right now Music World definitely isn’t getting any from Radio One,” the source explained.
Currently, Music World Gospel boasts a roster that includes Juanita Bynum, Trin-I-Tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson, Vanessa Bell
Armstrong, Micah Stampley and BET’s “Sunday Best” winners Le’Andria Johnson and Amber Bullock. All of them have been removed from the Radio One programming system Selector, according to our source.

“Le’Andria Johnson’s song ‘Jesus” was in heavy rotation on Radio One stations one day and the next day she wasn’t getting any spins. New music by Trin-I-tee 5:7 and Micah Stampley, as well as recurring hits by Brian Courtney Wilson have been pulled as well,” the source added.
Even though EUR was told that Radio One has pulled music by Destiny’s Child and other previous songs released in conjunction with Music World; it has not directly impacted newer solo releases by Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams – all of whom had terminated their management and recording agreements with Music World prior to the lawsuit being filed.
What does this mean for Sunday’s Mess?
I think this is added proof that Gospel Music is more about “business,” and the purpose of worshipping God through music has taken a back seat to the “business” aspect of things. It seems the Gospel Music industry is more about “business” before it’s ever about ministry or worship…just a thought.
First of All Mr. Knowles is an “Inclusionist”! Secondly, he saw a money making opportunity and was going to capitalize on the Christian Community! Thirdly and Most Importantly He was going to stop using the word “GOSPEL” music citing that it is too narrow and replace it with the words Inspirational and faith-based! It is through & by the “Gospel” that souls are saved and the Power of satan broken!!! Those “GOSPEL” artists that signed with him should have known that when you follow the devil you get punked!!!

Matthew knowles can’t even keep his house in order. Court documents (therfore not a rumor) have revealed recently that he pulled a jessie jackson and fathered a child out of wedlock. His wife is filing for divorce.
Whoo! Ms. Hughes doesn’t play, does she? But Mr. Knowles set his own self for all of this. Examine his prior actions up to this point, and you will see the pattern of destruction.
Before I came to the knowledge of truth, I was involved in the gospel music industry working with T57. I would have to deal with complaints of Pastors calling saying T57′s outifts were “too tight” and “revealing.” I see nothing has changed….

When they first arrived on the musical scene around 98′, I read an interview and they said that they wanted to bring something fashion-wise into the gospel music industry and that no other female gospel artist dressed like them! #iwasdisgusted

I glad about the ban, in a way. Most music, including “gospel”, end up on the 5 point pentagram anyway because real Christians don’t own any of the major labels.

The gospel industry should’ve FIRST cut ties with Matthew Knowles because of how he pimped his daugther & cheated on his wife, not because he swindled them out of money. This man had his own daugther wearing skimpy clothes and gyrating all over the place for money, then had a baby with another woman while he was married.

It is really sad because they are deceiving so many people..I really encourage people to keep their eyes on CHRIST and not man cause they will lead you astray…. The flesh can’t handle fame and it shows in all these so called Gospel artist, honestly I dont even feel right calling them Gospel artist cause aint nothing Gospel about them…They are doing everything contrary of the Gospel… I pray that they would just sit down and seek the LORD for real..You would think if they would stop for a minute and evaluate themselves and ask God for direction but I guess thats to hard when the world loves you and you love the world…Well they better know that the Word of GOd said if any man love the world the love for the Father is not in them…. This sounds like a squabble for money that may make Mr. Knowles SEEM to support Christianity. Dangerous is this moment.

I dont know who these people think they are pleasing but I’ll tell you right now from my few years of being saved, they are not pleasing the God of the bible. Didnt the Lord say to love not the world neither the things of this world? Its all about record contracts and the who’s who of singing. These “christian” folks love the glory of the world so much that they are trying double time to stuff it down the saints throats and most of all shove it in God’s face. Woe to them on judgement day.
