Discerning Authentic Ministry

I know this is unpopular and folks are afraid to say it. Anytime a celebrity is in your sphere of influence and you can’t impact their life with the Gospel?! Listen, the same Gospel that saved you from drugs, homosexuality, sin, destruction and death. They (celebrities) flow through your circuit of ministry, your “connected,” and their life ends in tragedy and you didn’t make a difference in their life. but a hug, name in lights, paid performances and accolades! Then I question your agenda. They are on records with you. They attend your services and give large offerings and all you have to show for it is a photo op, a movie cameo and a reserved seat? God forbid! You preach and teach to millions and you can’t influence one? Something is wrong with the filter! Impact the world people! It’s not by just what you do, but how you live. Can you image how many lives could have been saved if saints who had access would have stayed on the mission? It’s mandatory to stay awake! Souls are at risk from the least to the famous! (Matthew 28:18-20) God’s heart hurts for souls that are lost, is yours?

I wanted to turn the T.V. off… but then I saw CeCe Winnans go on and said “SING IT WITH ME WORLD! Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so!” and then I saw comments rolling on the side on Livestream. All I can say is… wow. I am surprise of learning all of this.

  2. Rev. Mitchell

There is so much to be said after reading each and everyone of the statements. I just heard a report that is saying now Whitney Houston may have had a heart attack and was found half way in the tub as if she fell dead and her face then went submerged into the water; that she never was actually completley in the tub. My point here is that no one really knows what happened yet. Let us not imitate the media by jumping to conclusions. Yes she struggled but the reality is that no one knows if her “struggle” led to her death. We simply do not know that yet. As far as impacting her life. As we all know that Kim Burrell and TD Jakes are fakes we should then know that they could not have impacted her life for Christ. The question is not whether they impacted her life but are we impacting the lives of people today. Are we praying for these people in hollywood who are headed toward destruction. Tetaun is right about sphere of influence! We have it but are we taking advantage of it on a daily basis. Are we tarrying before God for that relative strung out on drugs. Are we impacting the life of that Aunt or Uncle that can’t stop drinking? Are we influencing the people in our sphere of influence. Whitney Houston’s addiction is a picture of anyone of us with an addiction. Besides the possibility that she may not have been saved, the saddest part of this is that it is being talked about so much not because Christians are really concerned about the fate of a fellow human being, but because she was famous, and how she might have died. I can’t wait until we can have as much conversation about someone who is still alive. It is sad that these evil people will try to put her in heaven, but it is equally sad for Christians to try and put her in hell. No one really knows what happened in those final moments. Anyone who knew the thief on the cross, but was not there to hear his confession probably thought he was in hell to and that his life was a tragedy. We simply do not know. I would be the first to say that Whitney gave her gift to the world nad it used her and spit her out, didn’t even wait till her body was out of the hotel to start partying, but i’d also say that it is possible that she could have repented before her end came! We don’t even know how she died yet! Even if Kim Burrell was a real minister, salvation is a choice. how much impacting can one do! How much are we doing? Bless you all for your comments and wisdom. May God allows us to think of those people in our lives that need impacting for Christ!

    • gabby

      Awesome post. God bless bro

    • Monique B.

I agree with you. That also bothers me.. Why are christians putting her in hell ..and it’s almost like some seem happy about it!
When David was facing his punishment for taking the census he said, “Let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.” .. NOW I see why.
Before Whitney died God was dealing with that girl.. She was reading her word, praying, going to church and being very vocal about her belief and trust in God, according to herself and the testament of others.
She is even in a church service, on a youtube video, shoutin’ and praising God from the back of the church to the front… then back again. An extension of that video shows her quoting a psalm off the top of her head verbatim.
The word says.. the first shall be last and the last shall be first so we just don’t know! I’m not saying people should put her in Heaven but why are people putting her in Hell? While people are putting Whitney in Hell.. somebody’s Pastor is about to bust Hell wide open! God could have shown Whitney great mercy in the end. We don’t know what her last moments were.. but we do know he was obviously drawing her.

  3. beachy

The opportunity came for Winans to preach the Gospel….instead he spoke about how believers should not be poor. Twitter saints were singing his praises …not one time did I hear why Jesus came, why he died and that he resurrected. praying for the body of Christ

  4. Heidi

Hello neveryone! my name is Heidi Montage (no not the actress) and I have been reading your comments and I have been in church my whole life. I disagree with some of the comments. Whitney was raised in church so Im sure the gospel was already taught to her. Jakes, Kim Burrell Im sure over the years ministered to her when she needed it. Besides, her songs were about Love. Nothing wrong with that. I never heard her sing anything outrageous or demonic. It seems toward the end of her life, she was delivered from her addictions. Im sure she is at peace.

    • Bensy

Hey Heidi, it’s nice to meet you. although I disagree with your comment I just want to say one thing we have to watch out for. I think our problem is whenever an amazing artist dies, we have the tendency of defending how good they were and try to bring that artist into heaven. That’s not our job! yes she was talented but doesn’t mean we have to bring her to heaven. That’s God’s job.

    • Bensy

Let’s just forget about how good Whitney was and your opinion about Jakes and Kim Burrell. What caught my attention is when you said you’ve been in church your whole life. Have you been born again??

      • Eb

        That’s funny….Bensy be nice.

        • Bensy

Hey Eb, just to let you know I wasn’t being rude intentionally. When she said she’s been in church her whole life, I’m thinking she was talking about her self struggling with eternal security or going through what Whitney went through maybe. But I am sorry for my miss understanding of her statement. I just went a little too far by accident that’s all.

  5. Thomas R.

I’m going to make a bold statement that may offend everyone but it is meant in love. I believe we are the problem. We, in churchianity do the very same things! We don’t convey the true gospel, preachers are continually practicing rhetoric, saint’s practice passive Christianity, and in the “black church” we defend the pagan practices of slave religion, posing as “anointing”. Let’s face it, we thank God for a visitation of His Spirit, but we don’t realize that we are calling the word of God a lie when we say such things (Heb. 13:5 Matt 28:20) God doesn’t come to visit – He indwells!! Whitney, many in that building, and many that frequent the 501(c)3 businesses around this nation are victims, victims of what we call “church”! It’s time for The Church to rise, be in community and allow the life af Christ to flow through us – timeout for having church and doing church -let’s just be The Church!

  6. Gillian

Whilst watching the broadcast of Whiteys funeral, my family and I became alarmed at the portrait that was painted of Whitney. We pray that people of the world don’t think that is the portrait of true Christianity. I an saddened by her passing but most of all that all these professing people of God seemed to be of no help to this broken woman. Whatever happened to the power of God through prayer

  7. Mary T

I was watching the funeral and I was confused about them declaring her into sainthood today.. For real. If I never knew who Whitney was, I’d say they were making her sound like another Apostle Paul.. In fact a couple of them likened her to mother theresa. the other thing – I think it was sacriligious to have those unsaved people speak from the pulpit, even Kevin Kostner saying “damn” when he read his speech. (I’d shudder to think – what if someone wanted to be saved at that funeral – would that have been ok) … I know we cannot determine who is in heaven, we can imagine who might, however, the way they were talking about Whitney praying and mentioning Jesus all the time such as they mentioned she was so doing that all the time, do you think that she might have been a true follower of Jesus? Maybe she got right with God in her last week but from what they were saying from the pulpit you woulda thought she was the next Apostle Paul or something. But the most travesty was having T D Jakes and all the other “ministers” even the one actor who plays Media was there giving “holy” words. And then the Worst, was when someone said (I think Kostner) that when Whitney went to heaven, God was marveling at what a perfect creation He created. I’m shocked at hearing that. So I dont know, could she be a true christian and live her life like that?

  8. SoSpression

People that have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying can discern that Jezebel is getting her head chopped off, Judas is hanging himself, and Balaam is just going to hell. These spirits are getting judged right now. But people have a chance to repent, and GOD will have mercy.

  9. RH

I read through the comments made about the pastors Whitney Houston would have associated with when she was alive and how they should have preached the word to her. I agree with these sentiments, however, after reading an article about her as a 17 year old wanting to put herself out there to sing and saying that she knew that there were singers she could match or even top, her pastor at the time told her to wait that when she finally “came out” that hers would be a voice that the world would never forget (paraphrasing).

I think that this was a pivotal moment in her life. Why wasn’t she steered away from her pursuit of “secular” things? Why wasn’t she told advised to use her talent for God? I think this was a contributing factor in her demise? It was clear that she had some kind of special gift? Why did they make it so easy for the “enemy” to pluck her from the church? I think her spiritual mentors back then have should do some soul searching.

  10. Ashanti

Kim Burrell was not WH friend and neither was Jakes. Where were these people when WH was in her mess? They could have put her on blast when she was alive and possibly helped her, helped somebody. But look at them now, giving interviews/speeches. Couldn’t even wait till after the funeral. She got one friend that turned into a Whitney Houston analyst for CNN. The first day the friend talked about Whitney, she had no hair. The next day, had weave all down her back (for her new gig as WH analyst). Hollywood is so fake. All these WH “friends” need to sit they tired, opportunistic selves down.

  11. Paul-N

I must say, I am disturbed that those who call themselves Christians feel the need to honour Whitney Houston because of her voice. What in the world i going on. She was not an ambassador for Christ, so what is this all about?

I don’t remember all of these people coming out when David Wilkerson passed away (given their angle, they wouldn’t, would they?).

I am so annoyed because it seems like the message is that your talent is what is most important, lets forget that she lived a wreckless life!

What does he mean buy her music took you there?! to where exactly?! as a sinner maybe, but as a believer?

I feel sorry for the family and so on but this biggin her up by the Church is really annoying me.

Too many opportunist’s, that is the problem. They want to be “down” with the world to suit their nasty carnal agenda. They want the world to buy their CD’s and go to watch their silly movies.

    AHHHH!

    • Anthony B.

      Be careful.

I believe Whitney Houston’s soul was lost. Unfortunetly, but that does not change the fact that she had a God-given gift and gifts come without repentence (Romans 11:29). Anyone who has the Spirit of Christ could sense that this women was given a gift to sing to the glory of Jesus Christ. It was clear this woman had had an experience with God.

No, I’m not saying she was saved, she went out into the world and did very wicked things. However it was not God’s will that she die lost, and I could feel the spirit of the God grieve the night she died. We as the church should respect her for her contribution to the world. Just like we respect others that have made contributions to the world… and we should REMEMBER she was a soul… just like the rest of us. Had it not been for the Lord who was on our side we’d be in the same mess Houston was in some of us worse. We should not take pleasure in the loss of another soul. Yes, we must respect Houston as a daughter, as a mother, and as somebody’s family member. ANYTIME ANY human being saved or not, wakes up without a mother, it’s a time for grief.

We don’t have to compromise the gospel to show compassion and to sympathize with the sinner. Whitney Houston needed HELP. This fact is where the shame of all this lies, that none of these “preachers” or “pastors” or whoever around her opted to help her seek true deliverance. Rather they used her God-given gift and talent for their own personal gain, and for that they’ll reap their own eternal damnation if they don’t repent.

We are not here to condemn sinners but help lead them to salvation through Christ. Houston’s loss was a great blow to the Body of Christ (YES I SAID IT) because she CAME from “us”. She began singing and sang OUR SONGS. And you know what the real tragedy is? When she was wounded and first fallen none of us reached out and tried to help. We either turned our noses or exploited her condition for our own gain because she was “so talented”. This should be a wake up call for the church. IT’S TIME TO GET RIGHT! The church needs to take up the policy “No Souls Left Behind”, we need a yearning for souls, we need a desire for souls, we need people to pray day in and day out for SOULS.

      • Stephanieb

Great comments Anthony B, I completely agree. I do believe that Whitney was truly blessed by God with an amazing gift, but her gift was not utilized the way that it should have been, so unfortunately, she eventually lost her gift. I think that this is also a cautionary tale to ALL of us, that when God entrusts us with a gift, we have to be very careful how we use it, because if we squander it, it can be taken away from us, and can sometimes mean the very end of us. I truly hope and pray that Whitney had time to repent before she left this earth, just as I feel this way for any soul that is lost, but her “so-called friends” and “spiritual advisors” should be ASHAMED of themselves for exploiting her like that. In my personal opinion, they are not much better than Bobby Brown, because while they may have not encourged her to sin, they didn’t seem to do anything to help keep her from sinning, abusing drugs and alcohol, and ruining her life. It’s just a sad situation all-around, for these “so-called” Christian leaders, for Whitney, of course, for her mom, and definitely for her daughter. I pray that the Lord will connect Bobbi Christina with TRUE believers, that will really minister to her, and pour into her life, and keep her on the right track, because it would be truly tragic if she ended up with the same fate as her mom OR dad.

        • Bensy

Just a note of correction. I think as a church we misunderstand the difference between a talent and a spiritual gift. Since Whitney Houston was a singer, it wasn’t a gift ( spiritual gift) from God. But God gave her the ability to have that talent. So she was talented. God didn’t gave it to her as a spiritual gift. God didn’t just right on gave it to her and start singing right there. No God gave her the abilities and in this earthly rim she grew up around her family who were talented like her mom for example. So whitney grew up in church where she developed her talent. Now the phrase ” gift comes without repentance,” I am not sure if that was talking about a person having a talent…… Therefore, that should be checked. Now Stephanieb, I hope you reread your comment. Just because somebody like Whitney used her talent for the world doesn’t mean she lost it! remember lucifer in heaven?? Lucifer was a muscian but because of his pride, God kicked him out of heaven together with the other angels. But guess what there was nowhere that indicated that he lost his talent. Why do you think artists in rock music, hip hop, actors in movies, or those doing worldly dance are able to still have great talent??? That just to let you know you anyone can have a great talent whether you’re an unbeliever or not. Now of course if you don’t perfect your talent by practicing everyday you won’t get better. But as far as your gift being taking away from you that’s talking about the spiritual gift. I believe in 1 Samuel, King Saul is a good example where God took his kingdom away because of his disobedience. I just hope you understand where I was coming from about the gifts vs. talent.

        • Eb

That’s true…and unfortunately the most precious gift that Ms. Houston lost was her own life.

  12. chuck

Like I said, she was talented, and started out from the church but went after the fame. Well, she was introduced to drugs, and got strung out on it. She even talked about how much drugs she took, but in everything I have heard, I have heard that she is clean but nothing about Christ. I feel satan gives you fame and fortune and then when your influence is gone he takes you out because you are no longer of use to him. All these getting all bent out of shape never questioned did she give her life to Christ before her death. I know this might sound inappropriate, but I am sick of hearing people say foolish things like she is in heaven singing with the angels or she is in a better place. How dod they know that? Last time I checked, without Jesus there is no such thing as a better place but hell. No one wants to think of their loved ones in hell but the reality is there and maybe if people will start being realistic, they we all will see the urgency of having Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior or our lives. Just keeping it real and my condolences to her family but I hope those that are not saved will really come to Christ knowing that no one is promised tomorrow. Shalom!

    • ladyofwealth

Whitney needed to be surrounded by some “old mothers of the church” who believe in deliverance and casting spirits out and tarrying all night until she got free!!! Why didnt jakes or burrell do this for her?

  13. IKNOWTHETRUTH

REPLY: My apologies. I want to properly address your questions. Unfortunately due to raising kids, working on a master’s degree, and working will not permit me to answer as quickly as you would like. i will get to it. Give me the weekend.

  14. Janet

This is sooooooo sad. Neither clip shows either one of the Christians saying that they talked to her about Christ. This not only sad, but this is a shame. I don’t know if they tried to reach her, but if they did not (and if she went to Hell because of them not trying to reach her), they will be held accountable. Even if they make it to Heaven, if they did not witness to her, they will be walking around Heaven with blood on their hands. Lord help me and all of us to reach the lost.

  15. Tiffany D.

These are truly the last days…
I kept wondering who could step over a body, not just Whitney’s remains, but any coworker, friend, etc. and delete that from your mind to go to a party!!!??? I could not wrap my mind around it until I realised Nephilim could.

  16. Kelvin

This is a wake up call to all believers.
    T moffett,in this article wrote adout a
    “sphere of influence”.When we name
Jesus as savior his name give us influence.
So,every believer have influence because of
Jesus name. But are we using our influence to
point people to the cross. How meany people
cross our path and the Holy Spirit speak to the
believer,”share you faith with this person”, but the believer say nothing to that person. It’s time
To speak up….becouse 155.000 people die per
    day.
    Speak to that person

  17. IKNOWTHETRUTH

I totally agree with everyone recalling that, “The wages of sin is death”, Rom. 6:23. But, I honestly do not believe that she passed by her own hands. I believe that Whitney was sacrificed and just as mj, she was worth more DEAD, than ALIVE.
She cost Clive (and others) ALOT of (LOSSED) $$$ when she was unable to do the tour(s). She had to pay them back, by any means necessary! Now her “sales” are off the charts, folks will go running out to see the movie. Both her music and the (most recent) movie(s) will bring in “mo money, mo money, mo money”, and “We can cover it up by harping on her drug addiction and call it a suicide”, is what was secretly discussed in a back room. JUST MY THEORY.
As I shared w/ my friend when it first happened, I will not say she was not still dipping and dabbing, but I really don’t believe she took her life, due to the fact that (from a mother’s point of view) she loved her daughter and would never leave her. I truly believe it was time for Whitney to pay up and they made sure they received interest. How sad!!!!
One thing these Pastors(?) need to be teaching is, you can’t play with the devil and his workers, because he don’t play fair! But, they can’t teach that because they have been getting away with sin so long, they believe they are invincible. The world is not the only one who has began to “lose” souls. This domino affect will begin to hit those behind the pulpit, watch!

    • CeeDee

WOW girl, you give some deep, yet very sensible insights! My God—the darkness of the world is really imperceptible to most of us. That’s how folk get trapped—and also how the masses get duped. I’ve been reading about the debt. Recently settled her lawsuit with her step-mother over her dad’s policy. & there are other speculations. Such darkly sad circumstances. Jesus!

      • IKNOWTHETRUTH

        Yes, CeeDee,

It is truly deeper than a drug overdose, especially when they attempted to kill Bobbi Christiana in the SAME bath tub the night before. I believe she was the “original” sacrifice (who most likely has a seriously large insurance policy) that failed. What I do know for sure though is, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. GOD Bless you CeeDee.

  18. yahweh37

You know a while back I saw Whitney and I saw her struggle, I saw something was not right and when she sang that song “I LOOK TO YOU”, I thought she was reaching out to God and right there I envisioned if Whitney really forgot about the world and look to God ,He would have taken her to heights the world could never, and offer her that peace she so desperately yearned for and I hoped that I would witness that, but sadly it will never happen again. Well i certainly hope her blood is not on any Mega Pastors hands. These days creeping compromise seems to be the order of the day as long as the coffers are filled. What a sad time. I hope that beside web site and dvds availability, that EX Ministries would dare to take it a step further (if they have not already done so) and personally invite these artistes and personally tell them what they ought to hear and know because I know if you meet with them like T.D and you hear them say something wrong or quote the Bible out of context, you would right there and then correct them, instead of turning your cheek the other way and laughing like what they say sound so cute. you would not let them walk away with a lie from the pit of hell just because they slipped you an envelope. As a matter of fact I don’t even believe you would recieve any envelope in Jesus name from those artistes unless they have conformed. It’s up to them to come and up to them to heed. What they do after is on them. They can’t tell God they didn’t know. Do just like T.D Jakes and the others, invite them to your church but just not on the same agenda (not for show biz and piggybacking on their fame). Rebuke them in love and patience. Challenge them to hear you out or do a Bible Study afterwards then they can decide if what they have learnt seems righteous. If they are offended and walk out and walk away, you’ve done your part. Let’s take a step of faith and see what God will do.

  19. Bensy

To be honest I feel sorry for Whitney Housten’s lost. I pray for salvation in her family or those of them who doesn’t know him and that they recieve comfort. But the thing about it is Kim Burrell had a great opportunity to present the gospel to Whitney. Now as Whitney’s best friend was that being done?? As a bishop or a gospel artist you can talk about how you and Whitney started a movie production, how you and her been friends, how you collaborated with her and saying how talented she was. But at the end of the day all of that will not mean anything. The most important is did you really really I mean REALLY share the gospel to her and had a big spiritual impact in her life?? because in judgement day God is going to ask you what did you do for me? Your best friend Whitney is not going to be your witness! It’s you and God. Now a days when a great celebrity pass away all you hear is how talented he/she was, T.D. Jakes was talking about how Whitney and him produce a film, Kim was mourning after Whitney’s death including others and when the death of a celebrity occurs you hear how good of a person he/she was. But the preaching of the gospel was never presented! it’s so easy to be a fan of someone. A fan is a true worshipper of a god celebrity! But at the end of the day we are each held accountable for the preaching of the lost. No matter how much you like Whitney. It’s the soul that matters!

  20. Tonja

The only thing Jakes is authentic about is his fame and money. Kim Burrell the lingerie pastor was in no position to minister to Whitney. The blind can’t lead the blind!

  21. Je'Tua

II Timothy 3:7: ” Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.”

  22. LaPreghiera

What is Jakes wife doing? Is she the mime to his comments? She is so funny looking …

  23. Mimi

All I can say is I hope and pray she reconciled with God before her passing. She was a wonderful singer. She had an awesome talent. We all go thru struggles in life and prayerfully we have someone in our lives that will pray for us when we can’t pray for ourselves. Sometimes being a friend means telling our friend the hard things with love. Children of the Most High God, we have to do a better job at telling the truth even when its not popular. We have to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in Mark 16: 17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shell they cat out devils; they shall with new tongues; they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Where is our Holy Ghost power? I pray for the Houston family, James family and the Cornelius family. May God keep them in their time of sorrow

  24. Monique B.

Not trying to be controversial but you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink and Whitney has always came across as if she were already saved. Even in the early stages of her career she would accept awards accompanied by the words.. “I’d like to thank my lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, who is the head of my life!” I attribute that to her baptist upbringing and the baptist belief that once saved, always saved. Although it is mind boggling that none of her friends in the ministry had a bigger impact on her spiritual life.. at the end of the day, who’s to say some of them are really even saved anyway. Ultimately, you can’t force anyone to live for God. IMO, wanting to be a star is what snared her soul in the first place. At the peak of a successful career you are rich, famous, worshipped and adored and then after.. most entertainers spend their life trying to get that peak success back or basking in the glory of yesteryear! There’s no room for the true and living God in such a life. Most celebs are sold out to the world, sold out to SELF and has made themselves in to idol gods. So if you ask me.. she messed up when she decided that showing off her gifts was worth selling her soul to the world for. Let’s hope she was able to get it right somewhere in between the liquor and death.

Exodus 33:19- … I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

    • mt

well i am being controversial, Jesus was controversial. first off, the majority of the other horses are in the same stall as her, so they couldnt lead her anywhere, is that not why this post is up here, to call this mess out, that pastors and gospel singers didnt care about her, or her soul, her best friend cece who is supposedly so flawless and floats down from heaven every morn on a Holy Ghost cloud, if she cared she wouldnt have sang with her, you cant sing with someone and call yourself ministering to them, thats contradictory. and its not like they didnt know. and the biggest devils get up their and say they want to thank their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but discernment tells you that Jesus is not their Lord, you cant serve two masters, so they may as well thank the easter bunny for the award, cause God was not in it anyway. Its a shame have to stay home from church just like when michael jackson died, till all this dies down, because instead of lifting up the name of Jesus, its lifting up the name of whitney, and singing that self glorification song greatest love of all as a tribute to her. i get very angry when i waste my gas to go to church to hear whitney lifted up. and not the name of Jesus, and hear a pastor put ppl like whitney in heaven, and just like the rest of us, she had more than one sin, so drugs or no drugs that still wouldnt have magically put her in heaven, last i checked we gotta be cleansed from all sin and unrighteousness, this is foolishness,

      • Monique B.

For starters.. I wish there was an edit because I meant to say, ” Whitney has always came across as if SHE THOUGHT she was saved all along.”
Secondly, yes.. a lot of secular artist thank God for their success in error. If God is not being magnified and exalted through the music and the musician’s life then Jesus is not their Lord, I’m aware.
As far as the calvary.. these are a band of ambiguously saved and/or proven compromisers. Now-a- days there is a lot of respecting of persons, erroneous doctrines and beliefs, flat out biblical ignorance, carnal minds, carnal desires, charlatans pretending to be vessels of righteousness , devils pretending to be vessels of righteousness, and the list goes on, in the church! Some “supposed” saints are responsible for posting just as much R&B as the sinners do on my Facebook wall! I said all that to say this.. Tetaun’s point was made, well recieved and was not lost on me. However, it seems as though some are blaming her church buddy’s for not snatching the pipe, locking her in a basement with a bible and a Pace Sisters CD. Are you going that hard for your loved ones? Mind you.. Whitney LEFT the church to pursue her dream so Whitney had some certain level of understanding, and I’d like to think that the Lord sent her a true vessel somewhere down the line for correction. I can’t say where Whitney is but I can say that Whitney made her choice. I won’t put Whitney in heaven but I won’t put her in hell either. And yes.. Whitney had more than one sin, I’m sure, as do you and I. As a matter of fact, all of our righteousness is as filthy rags and we are saved by grace.
A star of that magnitude under spiritual oppression, unrealistic pressures (career-wise), media ripping you apart, can’t move an inch without being examined, judged, recognized or scrutinized.. No one knew the pressures of being Whitney BUT Whitney and not that
it’s right but she was self medicating for a reason. I heard she was praying and seeking God before her passing. Who is to say she didn’t get right and God took her before she could get a chance to get back wrong! Don’t forget about the thief on the cross and Matthew 20′s parable of the workers in the vineyard. And again..

Exodus 33:19 ..I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

As she sang “Yes Jesus Loves Me”, she looked to Kelly Price and said, “you told me that”. As if in their moment together she was looking for some affirmation about the love of Christ. I have read that in her last few days she was talking a lot about Christ as If she felt her day of reckoning would be soon. My thought is this, how very sad for those around her when she was in such a thirsty state for the truth they missed an opportunity to really share with her the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Can you imagine being in that position and possibly missing that opportunity…????

Reply: Also many deceased celebrities have gone on record saying that they had a close relationship with God. (Notorious BIG, Vesta Williams, Zachary Tims, etc.)

  26. marletta

What we have to remember is that, we (believers) are held accountable for the saving knowledge that God has revealed to us; so therefore we have no excuse. (paraphrasing Deut. 29:29) Disobedience comes from an “act of the WILL” and not b/c we don’t know any better. I pray that during Whitney’s final moments God allowed her just enough time to make it right.

These pastors are held at an even higher charge and will be judged severely b/c they have a responsibility to preach the full Gospel to the lost souls and not just appease the flesh of the people. Woe unto them…! If we look with a spiritual eye it wouldn’t be hard to miss the blood that’s dripping from the hands of these preachers who neglect to sound the alarm and warn of the Enemy’s devices, and of God’s impending judgement.

    Malachi 4:1-3

1)”For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2)But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3)And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.”

  27. Holt

Beyond the influence that TD Jakes should have had on her and didn’t, why is it brought up at the pulpit? Is he trying to boast that he knew her and worked on a film with her? Otherwise I know my pastor didn’t bring up her passing at church. It may be newsworthy, but secular news doesn’t make it into church to be spoken on behind the pulpit.

  28. Atina

There is an apostle I’ve looked up to, who preaches a lot on deliverance, and I’ve purchased many of his cd’s. He wrote on facebook, under a picture of Whitney, Etta James and Don Cornelius the following:
“They are a part of our history no matter how sad the out come, God deposited his grace in each of these lives. ALL SOULS BELONG TO GOD!
    I’m confused…..

  29. Bradlee

I appreciate the clarity concerning the issue of celeberty affectation presented in this post. As believers it is important that we live a life before the world even when it is hard and that we contend for our faith inGod.

@Standing Up 4 Holiness: your comments are on point about Whitney’s friends-Pastor Marvin Winans of Detroit’s Perfecting Church married she and Bobby Brown back in 1992 and is set to eulogize her this weekend.

@ Anthony: I to wanted to know why Kim decided to attended a Grammy party for Clive Davis. Strange? Huh…Remember the artist and COGIC national music directorJudith McAllister wrote and executive letter supporting Burrell singing secular music.

@ Robert C: the fake cry by Kim Burrell seemed over the top, so I felt you on that one.

At the end of the day many of these so called ministers like Kim Burrell, Kirk Franklin, T.D. Jakes, and Marvin Winans do not have revelation of God’s word. Remember knowledge does not equal revelation. So ultimately these people’s lack of understanding, love of money, and celeberty affectation are not of God. They truly preach what Paul termed “another gospel” and is “no gospel at all” Galations 1:6,7.

Will the real people of God praise and live for Him Amen..

I believe Whitney is in heaven. Yes she struggled, but she knew Jesus and was fighting to come out of addiction.

REPLY: Please elaborate more. What made you believe she “knew” Jesus?

    • Stan Rogers

People always talk about struggling with sin but the fact is that it’s impossible to struggle with sin. The law was given to us to show us that we’re sinners by nature , so if that’s true….. how can we struggle with something that comes natural? That’s like me saying that I’m struggling to be a black man, that’s not possible because that’s what I am. There is nothing in the bible that supports struggling with sin,in fact just the opposite. James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

    • Bensy

Well only God knows we can’t make a judgement on her destination.

    • God Chaser!

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

The Bible says whatsoever or whosoever is born of God WILL OVERCOME THE WORLD !

  31. patrick

Lord help us, we desperately need it.
cleanse our eyes so that we would not compromise.. WE ARE LIVING IN THIS evil day where a “lie” seems so close to the “truth”,, and the “wrong” seem so close to what is “right”…encourage us in your word Lord…..help LORD HELP…

  32. Grace

I am reading a secular blog and they have more discernment about Ms. Burrell than the church. They are reporting the two would drink wine together.

  33. Min. Robert Murrell

The only tragedy here is that the false apostles, preachers, bishops, or whatever title they want to use. They’ve wormed their way into peoples’ pockets while preaching a false gospel. While it is quite sad that this woman that the world loved, emphasis on the word ‘world’. I realized that we as Christians have a mandate to witness to the lost, but Whitney Houston sold her soul long ago to the devil for fame and riches. I don’t care how much the world wants to put Whitney in heaven, how many gospel songs you sing, how much you say that you know God, how many scriptures you quotes and all the others who died in sin; according to scripture if you have no communion with Jesus nor keep his commandments, you do not know Him intimately. Whitney’s death serves as a reminder to the rest of us who are saved and unsaved about the wages of sin. Which is DEATH!!

  34. Salene

This is written with a heavy heart, not because the world lost it’s own, but because the body of Christ has taken yet another blow. There were multiple times where the church had the opportunity to truly minister to this lost soul and not just talk Jesus loves me, but yet show how much Jesus loves. Ms. Houston left the church only to mingle and later dance with the devil and his entourage. When the devil loosened his grip for a lol bit, I believe she sought to find refuge. Now instead of just teaching Jesus loves me; there should have been some casting out of demons and tough love. Ms/Mrs. Burrell should have never endorse the idea of allowing someone that was not strong enough to encounter and stir up those demons that laid in wait.

Out of this I pray that blinded eyes be opened and souls saved, set free and most importantly delivered.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under His mighty wings.

  35. Standing Up 4 Holiness & God's Word

I so agree with this post 110 percent!!! All these “gospel artists/preachers” in the industry just want to have the FAME and NOT Christ’s power to be a witness for Him!!! I am just curious, while Whitney was going thru her struggles, did anyone of the gospel artists (not just Jakes and Barell but also CeCe and Bebe Winans) told her of the consequences of this lifestyle she was in or just sang to her like a mother would to a baby to fall asleep and soothing the hurt for that moment but never attempt to solve her problems using His Word? If they catered to Whitney without telling her the REAL truth, her soul will be on their hands which is a very sad state and shape to be in when they are in front of the Almighty God himself.

  36. Nigel Wynter (@wjude20)

One word: COMPROMISE. When the Word of God is compromised, NO fruit is produced. God help us…

  37. Kendras Reed

I think Jakes has gotten comfortable in his big CHURCH, CELEB ADMIRATION, and WORLD RECOGNITION! And has fallen in love with it or to be nice: He has gotten slack! He is known by all these CELEBS, leaders in GOVERNMENT and aint non of them came out of the world/sin/themselves into CHRIST. Eeeeeevvveerrrryyy Christian I know that got saved stop doing what they were doing and follow Christ. Jakes is acting cowardly on these issues just like Olsteen; to keep the people happy and even worst money/fame.

  38. Kendras Reed

    FAVORTISM

    • Kendras Reed

Secondly, you can’t expect these folks to rebuke anybody. They just say what abt you, you did this and that however the standard aint them but the Lord! So we should according to their ministry shouldnt say anything to sin but forgive it and understand where that person is in life. Never say anything to make or cause them to do better cause we all doing wrng baby…SAD.
So this is the Jesus we got for the world?

  39. Al

At the Funeral they are going to put her in Heaven…… but we know better don’t we?

    • Kelvin

Al where did Go? It appears that you
Get pleasure if she don’t go to Heavan ?
      WoW

      • Bensy

I think Kelvin you missunderstood what Al said. The point that he is trying to make is we don’t have no right to decide somebody’s eternal destination. You went a little too far.

    • gabby

I have to admit, Im not highly confident she is in heaven, but on the other hand, Im not positive she is in hell. God’s ways are above ours. WE honestly do not know her relationship with God and where it stood in those last day, months, etc. IT is true you shall know them by their fruit and she still surrounded herself with the lost which is a big sign. THe point is only God knows where she is, everything else is speculation

  40. kevin

This is what happens when the Gospel is being commercialized and watered down the sad reality is that the religion does not save Jesus does so we must start doing his ministry which is deliverance. The body of christ failed whitney as a whole and somebody who calls themselves a woman or man of God will preach the eulogy saying whitney is in heaven because of all the great things she was in the world a friend of the world is an enmity to God it is sad to say she never recieved the love ministry of deliverance this is sad she was so talented and was supposed to use her gift for the kingdom. This is a reproach to the kingdom and whitneys’ Pastor and the church need deliverance

  41. Monique

    Woe unto the hypocrites!!! Woe!!!

  42. SandrineFromBelgium

So SAD…i only see a bunch of hypocrites in these videos…

  43. Grace

What a mess! These people minister to millions of people yet could not minister to Whitney? Pray and fast over her? Where is the power? Then want to use her name to get media attention. Get out of here! Chaka Khan’s interview made more sense than Kim Burrell’s. Chaka verbally said the industry is demonic and Whitney had toxic people around her. Why is that? How does Kim Burrell talk to Whitney every week for 13 years and we see no change? I would question if I was right with God. Signs, miracles, and wonders are to follow me. We need people really on God’s side to reach out to the music industry who have the access! Whitney will not be the last…

  44. Rose

    your spot on ….

  45. endtimewarrior

    So many “Christians” failed Whitney.

Lord help us to be salt and light in the earth.

  46. chel

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. James 4:4

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 2 Corinthians 6:14-16

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37

If we want to be rich and famous than we have to become friends with the world. Sadly it is a deadly friendship. Real spiritual warfare to me is overcoming the desire to be somebody in this world, it is not about us but about Christ.

  47. TJay

Kim keeps going on about, “she was my sister”, Kim if she was your sister why did YOU sat on the side lines watching her self destruct?!!! Why didn’t you ‘minister’ to her troubled soul? She’s dead and you are still on the news riding her coat tails for 5mins of fame! Shame on you!!!

    • Standing Up 4 Holiness & God's Word

      Aaaaaaamennn!!!!

    • Nikki

Amen! I read articles that she would go to her concerts and pray with her. Also, if Kim wanted to really minister to her, why did she sing one of her songs to her and sing in the revealing dress she had on during the BET honors?

REPLY: It has become unpopular to minister the pure Word of God. Many saints have replaced ministry with performance. Songs can not save. Only Jesus can set free. In these last days there has become more of a demand for music produced by homosexuals rather than the preached Word of God.

  48. BORIS JOHNSON Caribbean christian

I in no way endorse the celebs life style and celebs pastors, Jesus is my only STAR, but let us look at whitney Houston as a another lost soul and not just speak evil of her, we as christians need to go back into soul winning and come out of the four walls mentality, people are dying with out Jesus Christ, and the next one can be your mom, dad, brother or sister. One love EX

REPLY: Who is speaking evil of Whitney?

    • In your defense sir, I encourage you to read the entire post.

    • Eb

      Boris Johnson Caribbean Christian,

It is a priviledge to receive the information that I’ve received from this ministry.

You must take into consideration all the facts…before posting any statement(s),
and this website is another form of Soul-Winning.

    • Bensy

This is about believers not taking a stand to evangelize to their lost friend or the lost. Bro I hope you paid attention to the youtube videos on these two leaders.

  49. wilson

i agree w/ this post. and its said to see kim burrell all over the news promoting herself and friendship w/ whitney it’s like there trying to hind something. Esp if they talked every week ahhh yes she shld have none something b/c theres no way kim wld have been invited to a clive davis party if it wasnt for whitney & the grammys….where is john the baptist of today? Who willing to decrease so christ may increase….4 the lime light not them

  50. kday

Food for thought: We always says if these pastors have access to these celebrities, why aren’t they preaching change into said celebrities lives? How long do you think these pastors would keep access to these celebrities if they actually preached the necessary, life-changing word to them? I think its a two-way street–having these pastors in their back pockets makes the celebrity feel justified that they’ve met their religious quota and justified in their sins, while it puffs up the minister to feel important. The minute the pastor goes too far or steps on toes, their direct line is probably cut off. Think of how Michael Jackson supposedly treated his family when they tried to intervene with him. There is an article from a prior bodyguard who quit his job because he refused to continue to support Whitney in her drug habit. Not wiling to watch her destroy herself.

    • Grace

Well, that’s why you seek God on wisdom on how to approach them in love. If you pray and fast first you will be surprised how God can soften their heart to hear what you have to say. But when you aren’t living right and they know you are not of course they will reject what you have to say because you have no proof, through your lifestyle. How can you deliever them from the same thing you are participating in? People recognize the real deal and when it is genuine with no other agenda.

    • CeeDee

      Now…You done said something!

  51. Sir, “you just don’t know”> and not one time did he say that he was able to pray her through the Holy Ghost but I guess the blind cannot lead the blind or else they all fall in the ditch. what a tragedy not to have really led her to Christ. so now we have another mj moment in time and no one ever gets to minister the word of God! I love where Paul says, (if) any man be in Christ… old things are passed away (I think you know where I’m going)-Paul knew that there would come a time when men would not be in Christ and this is jut one of those times w/ Mr. Jakes. and what is up with some 25 seconds of hand claps for a woman who never gave Jesus Christ real glory for anything and I think this is a tragedy for the so-called church to put a woman up so high that she is now praised in death more than in life. yes praying for Bobby and his daughter to receive the Holy Ghost and have a new life instead of new editon.

  52. Tetaun, I couldn’t have said it better….Amen

  53. TSmith

She’s going to be ok…..she speaks as if Whitney wasn’t dead…..seriously??? So, sad. Lord have mercy.

  54. Bonita

The deceit starts with the so-called christian… I know for a fact when I was in sin, backslidden, and carnal Holy Ghost filled saints were the last people I wanted to see or be around. The flesh really is enmity with God; this is so true of the truth. How then can anyone with God’s Spirit hang so tight, party with, yoke up with, etc. with an unbeliever????? People of God, what he said to one God said to ALL. I dont know about you (carnal, deceived, backslidden) christians…. God’s Spirit will not allow it without conviction, and eventually a word to them for their soul’s sake. Ever notice, once you give them God’s word your relationship changes they dont feel you, it becomes akward after a while and then they drift away????? The deceit starts with the so- called christian….

    • Bonita

I believe Whitney thought that her life and relationship was tight with God. I believe this because PASTORS were with her at parties, PASTORS were making movies with her (is sparkle a movie about christ) and she could call PASTORS and they would not say a word to her about her drug use. She watch Mary Mary and Yolanda Adams and a whole bunch emmulate her, fawn over her, praise her, and glorify her and lifting her up. Whitney has seen them and sung with them secular songs. This makes a whole lot of hollywood think they are saved…..Again, the deceit is starting with these so- called christians. Kim, Kirk, Jakes, Yolanda, Mary Mary, Joel, etc… I walked up to your tree expecting figs (this is their season) and I see leaves only! Rend your hearts saints…

      • SWC

@Bonita–> Everything you said all day, every day! These celebs feel God is endorsing their lifestyle and the conduits used are these compromising “saints”. I too have been reading the book of Ezekiel and what God says about Shepherds leading people astray. Bishop Jakes and others KNOW the word of God. This is why it has become so frightening to me. The devil is throwing HIGH RANKING demons at these leaders. They are succumbing to temptation at a phenomenal rate and then the devil is using them to lead millions into the flame. Spiritual warfare is no joke! I pray for these spiritual leaders, because just like Whitney, they once knew God. And to think Whitney’s father was a pastor, mother a gospel singer, and she growing up in the church. How in God’s name is it possible to have an outcome like this? Where were the intercessors at her church? Why didn’t her so-called Christian friends join together and call a fast to break the strongholds in her? Bishop Jakes certainly has enough members in his church that if they interceeded for her, I believe God in His mercy would have done something for her. However, I don’t think they cared enough to do the half. Too busy rubbing elbows with worldly celebrities and trying to promote their own brand. Only God and the devil truly know where her eternal abode is. But in all honesty, her lifestyle suggests nothing of a cohesive relationship with the LORD. Her last public performance was in a nightclub with gospel singer Kelly Price, entitled, “Jesus loves me yes I know”.They say gospel music was playing in the hotel when they found her body. I really want to believe that a miracle occured…but deep down I don’t think so. This is an all around travesty.

        • CeeDee

Remember Lucifer—”O how art thou fallen…”
He was brighter and had more “star quality”—more potential than any of the celebs that have been/will be named on this or any blog. If he fell, I can’t be shocked by anyone else falling. May we take a lesson from this (b/c I believe the Lord’s speaking thru all of it) and contend for the faith, occupying until he comes. Personally, I’m much more focused on the rise of the persecution of Christians, and on the stripping of Christians’ rights, in America, & beyond! Awake, O church, Awake!

      • Stephanieb

Exactly Bonita, great points!!!!! This is indeed where the problem lies. Unfortunately, Whitney did not realize that these supposed “Saints”, were not really men and women of God at all, but WOLVES. Bottomline, her salvation was not with these quacks, but is found only in our Lord and Savior, so I don’t really understand why she felt that having these people around all of the time meant that she was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost! Even if Whitney read the Word as much as some claimed she did, the enemy truly had her dumb and blind to the TRUTH, but as the Word says, “the devil is the author of confusion” and the “father of lies” so when he has you confused, you are TRULY CONFUSED!!

        • Nikki

That’s so true. That’s why it’s so important for us as the members of the Body of Christ, especially if you’re in leadership (i.e. Pastor, Bishop) to live according to the scriptures to show others that there is truly a difference in living Holy.

        • Eb

There were so many around her confessing Jesus…but none knew to tell Ms. Houston to put that cocaine, prescriptions drugs and/or alcohol down. What kind of christians are these?

  55. Servant of God

Oh la la la la… Im fed up with these power and money hungry preachers with their mega ministry, all they do is promote these people in their sins that lead to premature death. Those who is in The Lord Jesus Christ promote life not death. For example you have a good friend who is dying of thirst, and you have fresh water that someone else provided so that your friend would live but instead you joke and play with your friend till death take them away, did you really love your friend? i would love her so called christian friend to answer that.

  56. Renee

What kind of friend is Kim where you can attend a pre grammy party while your “closest friend” body is still upstairs in the room.

  57. Robert C

Thanks EX! Somebody had to say it. We can’t reach the lost if we ourselves are carnal minded. It’s time for us to realize that we must sacrifice in order to be successful for Gods kingdom. That means telling the truth about Gods Word and His love, mercy, and grace. Living a life that will not be a stumbling block. If more of the so called famous Christians would stop lusting after those that sold their souls for money and fame and not sellout we would have a better culture and maybe we can support them. But, people want the devils riches and fame. I guess the message is clear to those who soul their souls to the devil and go to celebrity churches.”Don’t die”. Cause without Jesus, hell awaits.

  58. Taura Helms

When I heard that Whitney Houston had passed, this is exactly what I was thinking. It was okay when she was entertaining us with her music and her reality show with Bobby Brown. Where was the church then? She was raised in the church and suddenly swallowed by in industry that chews up and spits out those involved. If anyone paid attention to what is reported by Nicki Minaj, she is already becoming overrated and irrelevant under 35. This is a cycle that we have the spiritual power to stop. This woman’s daughter had to be hospitalized. Wheres the prayer? It’s time to stop the insanity and the preachers who truly care to pray. Some of the people who enter that industry and sell their souls are truly in over their heads. I hurt for he soul, not her musical legacy. Its time to pray.

  59. Theresa Louis

So many great and biblical statements. It is VITAL that the church get it together. I was also reading in Ezekiel 33 about warning those in sin and if we don’t, how their blood will be on our hands. I think some folk have forgotten all of that. Whitney’s blood is on many of the hands of the “saints” who were in contact with her. My prayers are for them as well.

  60. Jesus' Daughter

Really sad to see the first video. The Pastors dont even look like they like each other. It looks like a business arrangement or something. Awkward! Also, clapping for Whitney during a church service feels so wrong to me. Isnt that the time Jesus can have for Himself? Its not like Hes getting a lot these days. At least praise Him ONLY when you get to church. Gee! Sad stuff going on. And I understand balance so just mentioning Whitney is one thing but the long praising and clapping and exploiting etc etc. too much for me. I would have left.

  61. D. Walker

When I read in USA Today yesterday a quote by T.D. Jakes that basically stated
while working with her on the set of the remake of “Sparkle,” Ms. Houston
seemed well(I’m paraphrasing since I threw out the paper already).. I thought, “How could He not discern she was under the influence of “something” evil, when the average Joe on the street who knows NOTHING about the Jesus The Christ recognized it? That really bothered me because I thought all these Woman Thou Art Loose books, movies, DVDs; not to mention his Pastors & Leadership
Conferences, and “Get Ready… Get Ready…” AND HE discerned NOTHING about Ms. Houston’s demons? She saw NOTHING in Him that made her seek him out for prayer; fellowship and/or counseling.

      Brother Tetaun,

To often we (Christians, Blacks, Entertainers & etc..) are offended by the TRUTH.

Never stop revealing, preaching and/or exposing the enemy…because someone is offended.

At the same time…someone can be saved by the truth(s) spoken from this ministry…like myself and my family were.

      God Bless.

  63. Jimmy

Everyone has said basically what i wanted to say. I hope that we dnt forget what the church is all about, it’s about kingdom business, that includes spreading the truth, deliverance and leading souls to Christ etc. And not money business.

  64. Anthony

    It’s so much I can say – but I’ll say this…

As a “pastor”, shouldn’t Kim Burrell feel at least kind of strange about attending a pre-grammy “party”… Wouldn’t one feel “out of place?” And we all know, the only thing Kim would’ve done at that party was sing with all of the other secular artists there….

I shudder to think that Whitney (or anyone else for that matter) would be comfortable hanging out at a party with a “pastor”…

I shudder to think that they would be comfortable drinking or doing drugs around Kim

I shudder to think that if that were so, Kim “didn’t have enough” so that wouldn’t want to do anything illicit around her…I mean jeez o pete – we should have such a testimony so that even if a person wanted to sin, cuss, drink, etc – they would at least have enough respect not to do it around you….

Even if Kim never saw Whitney during her “struggle” – that’s no reason to turn a “blind eye” to her struggle (that was such a lame, asinine excuse to say on TV…)

People need to stop playing with God……

I better stop and get control of my flesh and my mind…..this whole thing is really starting to tick me off..

    Pray my scremf…..

    Be Blessed!
    Anthony

I was just reading Ezekiel 34 the other night regarding the Shepherds who neglect the sheep and feed only themselves. THEY Dont care about the sheep who are sick, diseased, taken captive by the enemy. All they care about is making a name for themselves and getting rich. The celebrities need deliverance too not for someone to stroke their ego and deceive them. Everybody is not heavenbound. So sad!

this man is fake u mean he worked and talk to her when they were shooting a movie n yet he did preach to her to change her life and he call himself a Bishop!!!!!!!!!

  67. only those bound by sin and lust follow TD Jakes. The bible says these are the sorts that creep into house where there are: silly women, full of sin, following divers lusts, seeking knowledge, but never finding God. This was talking about TD Jakes and his followers for sure.

Amen, a tree is known by its fruit ! And fruit do not fall far from the tree .
These so called Pastors are clowns looking for fame and fortune, You mean to tell me Whitney knew all these Pastors and so called powerful people and she got no help ?!!!!!!!

I think the post says it all right there: Stay on course with God and you will never go wrong.

This gets on my nerves. If Whitney was around ALL these Christians, then there should have been a change. She had a bunch of enablers and leeches around her. Total exploitation. But I guess it’s okay, I mean, as long as the movie was finished! (HUGE sarcasm).

You know you cannot tell anyone about someone you don’t know! This man is all about the money! Its so sad because some celebs are truly in need for help and I believe want it but you have lovers of money like this man that can’t help them! I pray that God will touch those that are truly crying out and want a way out! Jesus died for the whole world so that we all can be saved and free! TD Jakes needs the Lord as well!

  71. kja

Made a whole movie with her and never made a real friend. I guess she didn’t see enough Jesus in him to say I want what you got.

of course we all mourn he death of anyone and it is a sad situation but this has gone a little too far and yes we’re all supposed to respect and love people but were also supposed to win them to Christ and he didn’t say a word about it and then I’ll told me putting them in uncomfortable conversation.

I agree with your summary. Of course, Jakes is about the dollar bill not necessarily focusing on relationships, celebrity or not. These types of ministers view people as a means to a financial or influential end. A godly, wise, elderly man told our small group of men last night that it is not about what you say, or preach but how you live, especially in front of your family that will impact them. His testimony is strong because his son is our pastor. A truly humble man that genuinely loves God and His people, not by his words alone but by his actions. Yes, our heart should ache for the lost and hurting. If it doesn’t who need to examine our heart. Blessings to you guys. Keep bringing it.

Sorry about my closing error. I meant to type that we need to examine our heart. Thanks.

Winning them to Chist is loving them.Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. People think that rebuking someone or telling someone thast they are in error is judgement but that is true love .Jesus said in Revelation as many as I love I chastise.

It is sad to see these maga church ministers who have access to these famous people are not trying to win their soul over to Christ. They are really after their famous names and connection and the amount of money they can get from them. May the Lord have mercy on their souls, because these coward preahers did not love them enough to tell them the truth about the industry they’re in will lead them to hell. Some of these celebs know exactly what they are doing and some they’re just confused and are willing to sacrifice their souls for fame. Preachers like T.D Jakes and Joel Osteen, makes my stomach turns. They claiming they are for Jesus, yet quick to turn their back on Christ on national television because they don’t want to offend nobody. They want to mingle with hollywood and pertraying to love Jesus. Which side are they really on? It Is obvious who they are really serving is Satan not Jesus Christ. I cannot comprehend why Christians want to become famous soooo badly. What honor and glory that gonna bring Jesus when all they care about is themselves. All these celebs that passed away are probably in hell if they did not make it right with Christ before they took their last breath. These famous preachers had access to them and never told them the truth, they just wanted their money and infleunce. PEOPLE OF GOD I KNOW IT IS A BATTLE WE’RE ARE FIGHTING DAILY. BE STRONG AND RESIST TEMPTATIONS AS THEY COME. WALK THAT NARROW PATH TO RIGHTIOUSNESS AND I PRAY TO SEE YOU IN HEAVEN SOON, YOUR BROTHER IN CHRIST JESUS WITH LOVE. LOOK UP FOR OUR REDEAMER IS NEAR TO TAKE US HOME…..

I often wonder when I see celebs dying and knowing they hung out with Christians, how much they were told about Christ or was it all about the celeb. Sad.

    • Kim

I wonder the same thing my friend….my heart is so sad to see these things.

      • Nadine

I was confirmation for me to see this article, it was a witness to something I shared with my family about being an “enabler” . You can’t see a person clearly when you are star struck and you are not in a position to help them at all and will be in awe of their gifts. Both videos are very sad in that these people had and have access to the people that need God the most and are more concerned about appearances and other carnal things. I prayed for Whitney through the years, and my prayers are with her daughter, her fans and many others like her who need God almighty. I am also praying for TD Jakes, his wife, ministry and Kim Burrell, and every believer, that Holy Spirit convict us with godly sorrow to repent and turn whole heartedly to serve God and win souls… As my Pastor taught on our last bible study, the saints of God need to learn how to love like Christ! We have to help all of those around us and share this gospel.
