Pro-Life Fight Against Abortion Providers Compared to David vs Goliath Match-Up

Pro-life and family advocate Dr. James Dobson encouraged pregnancy help service providers this week in their fight against the abortion movement, which he described as vicious.
Dobson, who spoke to more than 600 people attending Heartbeat International’s annual conference Thursday, said that being on the frontlines of providing an alternative to groups such as Planned Parenthood was not easy.
“The leaders of the abortion movement are vicious about what they are doing. They are absolutely committed to it,” he said. “I’ve asked myself, ‘Why are they so passionate about what they are doing?’ There are really two reasons for it. One is population control and the other is they are making a lot of money doing it.”
Speaking about the tactics used by the pro-abortion side, he said, “They will intimidate you. They will try to embarrass you. They will even threaten you and I’m sure that there are people here who have been through that. And I’ve had my bouts with them, too.”
Founded in the U.S. in 1971, Heartbeat International is a network of pro-life pregnancy resource centers that has grown to become the largest global network of its kind. The Christian-based association has nearly 1,200 affiliated pregnancy help ministries – including pregnancy help medical clinics (with ultrasound), resource centers, maternity homes, and adoption agencies in more than 50 countries to provide alternatives to abortion.
Heartbeat President Peggy Hartshorn compared the battle for saving unborn children in today’s world to that of the David v. Goliath story found in the Bible. She urged those in the association to “pick up their rock” to help the cause.
“The Goliath of our times is the abortion industry and the face of this giant is Planned Parenthood,” Harshorn said. “Planned Parenthood is the largest chain of abortion clinics in the United States. Twenty-seven percent of all abortions done in the U.S. are done in a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.”
She added that 91 percent of pregnant women who enter a Planned Parenthood have an abortion.
The solution is to “get to them first,” she said.
“We have hope. Nine states have voted to defund Planned Parenthood. Abortion clinics are closing. They went from having 2,000 abortion clinics in the U.S. to 700,” she said. “Fifty-one percent of all Americans now consider themselves pro-life. We need more, but we are advancing. We are producing a culture of life.”
Harshorn said Heartbeat has the most expansive network in the world. “About 80 percent who experience an ultrasound choose life. An estimated 2,000 babies are saved each week through you, our pregnancy help center network.”
With 25,000 “foot soldiers” working for the association in various capacities, she said, “We are taking ground.”
“We are advancing with Christ-centered, strategically located, effective pregnancy help ministries that are working in our communities with the body of Christ to provide [multiple services],” she explained. “We are the alternative to Planned Parenthood.”
Dobson said he was at the conference because he believes in the work Heartbeat does and is passionate about the unborn child.
He told those in attendance that when abortion on demand was legalized by the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade more than 39 years ago, it struck him as odd that “there was this silence” from evangelical Christians.
“Christians just yawned and went on. Had it not been for the Catholics there would not have been [any vocal opposition],” Dobson said. “Things started to change but it wasn’t until the early ’80s. My fellow conservative evangelicals didn’t get it at all.”
He added that during this time period, some Christians did not understand “what was so wrong” with Planned Parenthood. “To consider how far we’ve come from there to now with the work of organizations like this I am very grateful,” he said.

How did you get here if it’s not recognized as a living being? God… Again, I ask you for forgiveness for the 3 that I had. I ask this in Jesus’ name. I some times find it hard to believe that I once thought that this was the norm! Lord I repent from my heart and mind….. I mourn these babies.

When I was in the 6th grade, my teacher teamed us up in groups. She gave us questions to debate about. One of the questions where “Do you think abortions are right or wrong?” I stated that it was wrong and for sonme reason one girl got upset and asked me another question. She said, “What if the person was raped?” I then said it was still killing a baby. The other night my husband and I were talking about what if a drunk driver hit a pregnan in hert women and killed them both. Wouldnt he got to jail for two murders. So I ask this question to the baby killers…How can a man go to jail for killing a baby unwillingly because he was druving drunk and killed a pregnant women and NOT a man who does it purposely. Or even a better question…Why don’t the mother go to jail for killing her unborn baby like the ones who been killing their toddlers lately. No relationship does not mean non existant…SMH AHUTB!–{shaking my head} {and holding up the bible!} I went to the doctor last week to get a genectics ultrasound. They showed my baby on the big screen. It had a heartbeat and was moving. IT WAS ALIVE!!!!! I had a miscarraige one month before I got pregnant with this baby which was my first pregnancy. And I know that we had a loss in the family although I didnt see my baby i knew at one time it was alive. My aunt had many miscarraiges when she was young with the help of my other aunt who died of cancer and now my aunt who had miscarriages, she now has two little boys in her middle aged because she couldnt afford abortions that my other aunt used to pay for what a shame–The same aunt who died of cancer was the same aunt who my cousin told she was being molested by our cousin who molested me too. But that aunt said she didnt want to break up the family so she kept it a secret. So no help was given. All these years i thought she kept the family together but as i write now it is clear to me that alot of blessing were stopped because of her ignorance. But thank God I’m now saved and he has delivered me from the hands of the enemy!! No shame and secrets in my family circle. We are breaking the curse!

It just proves how spiritually stupid we are as a nation not just African Americans, people are full of emotion and not full of the Holy Spirit. Trayvon Martin wasn’t Saved by the God of the Bible that’s for sure. From all appearances he was a young punk wannabe thug.
But the Children in the womb are being destroyed every single day, without hardly a peep.

I love it! Sometimes I sit and think a lot about how we got here to this place we find ourselves in today and didn’t c it coming. One thing is for sure, its a lot different from the good ole days when I was young. Killing babies wasn’t mentioned in our home. we didn’t know anything about that until it happened to us. And still, it wasnt wanted then! Now, its like a normal thing to do these days and society has saddly accepted it and other wild, unimaginable, perverse, disrespectful and imoral thing of this world. Great job ex-ministry on getting followers on board with eyes wide-open and thirsty for knowledge of the truth(john 6:35). Bless y all for that!

Recently I read an article that was saying how they trying to get people to believe that aborting infants is ok because it is STILL not a human being—WHAT!!! This is getting out of hand! Just go to YouTube and type in “Planned Parenthood Propaganda Video: A Superhero for Choice”. I shouldn’t haven’t even been surprised this propaganda video was actually released but it just angers me.

This is a great article. I think Dr. Dobson nailed it when he said the two reasons that the abortion industry and it’s proponents are so vicious: (1) population control & (2) money. The population control issue reminds me of Hitler wanting certain people to be erased and certain people to remain. It is awful how there are more abortion clinics in low economic neighborhoods of color and not in the more affluent parts of town anywhere you go. I think we do not need to leave our head in the sand as Christians regarding the killing of unborn babies. Also, along this topic there is a pro-life movie out right now in theaters, called October Baby. See the link for info in your area. http://www.octoberbabymovie.net/ I have seen the movie twice in the last week. It is not what you think, but about a girl who actually survived an abortion a baby. You get to see what she does with her life and how she reacts to her birth mother when she finds out that she tried to abort her. It is a really good movie about forgiveness.

I pray for their strength in their fight. I also plan to make a donation to this organization. In my area they have the 40 days for life movement which pray outside of the Plan parenthood in my area.
