Oprah Winfrey: ‘I Am a Christian’
Although she’s created a firestorm among believers in the past by suggesting that Jesus is not the only way, Oprah Winfrey is now boldly confessing Christ.
Twice during her “Oprah’s Lifeclass: The Tour” broadcast on Monday, Winfrey aligned herself with Christianity. Winfrey started by introducing the show to her Radio City Music Hall audience. The theme: “Spiritual Solutions.” The teacher: New Age guru Deepak Chopra.
“I am not talking about religion. I am a Christian. That is my faith. I’m not asking you to be a Christian. If you want to be one I can show you how. But it is not required. I have respect for all faiths. All faiths. But what I’m talking about is not faith or religion. I’m talking about spirituality,” Winfrey said.
Winfrey said her definition of spirituality is living life with an open heart, through love, and allowing yourself to align with the values of tolerance, acceptance, of harmony, of cooperation and reverence for life. She said she believes there is a divine thread that connects spiritually to something greater than ourselves.
“My favorite Bible verse—because I am Christian—is Acts 17:28. It says, ‘In God I live and move and have my being’,” Winfrey said. “And you want to know why I’m so successful? Because I knew that at 4 years-old … I wouldn’t be who I am today without a spiritual consciousness, without spiritual values and ultimately without spiritual love.”
Although some are still criticizing Winfrey, The Black Christian News Network (BCNN) is standing in defense of the sincerity of her confession:
“Now we know that some people are going to doubt Oprah’s profession of faith in Christ and some are going to say negative things about this because she has different people of different faiths on her show and so forth. But before you Pharisees say all of that, please understand that OWN is not a Christian network. It is a network for all people. OWN is Oprah’s business, and we as Christians know what that is like when you’re doing business in a secular world. So Oprah’s business side is going to be different, but it does not take anything away from her faith in Christ.”
BCNN thanked the likes of Stedman Graham, Tyler Perry, T.D. Jakes and others who wisely encouraged Winfrey and coached her on how to make her public profession of faith in Christ before the world.
“We believe that Oprah’s true ‘next chapter’ is to finish her life leading millions to the Christ that saved her,” BCNN wrote. “We want to encourage all Christians to pray for Oprah as she grows in her faith in Christ.”

Its interesting that she quotes acts 17:28. She should quote it in context:
Acts 17
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Amen to that! You should know them by their fruits! Christians need to wake and realize that everyone that claims to know Jesus in fact do not. We have strippers that believe God understands their line of work and it’s honest pay – yet they say they are Christians! And you know what? We say, “oh ok she is a Christian.” Wow! If she is sincere, the first thing she will do is renounce he false teaching. She will apologize to the masses for leading them astray and though OWN is not a Christian network, she will stop having these mystic teachers and shows on he show.
If one believes there is another way to the Father, that is both blashpemy and iolatry.

WOW! I can’t believe what I’m seeing on this website. I’m so shockd, I’m trying to read all the articles! It’s like I’ve been living in my own world….I had no idea about all of this. Early this week, a Christian Radio Station in Kenya was discussing cults, signs, symbols, haloween etc and I almost changed the station because I didn’t think that it concerned me…. (just because I have never been involved in witchcraft etc). I listened anyway and God this Sunday evening brought me to this website. Really need to pray for God’s protection 24/7. Stedman, Jakes and Perry for wisely encouraging Oprah to

I hope that no one believes her lies…She may be a good person in the eyes of many, done good things for people, but that brings to mind the scripture that says in Matthew 7:11
“If you then, BEING EVIL, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Clearly a person with an evil heart can do good and give good, that doesn’t make then an instant believer because then say so….The devil is a liar….

Do not be deceived God can not be mocked. I’m sure Oprah must have been really convinced that we followers of our Lord Jesus Christ are as dump to actually believe her inclusion professions. We are not fools but we have the mind of Christn therefore this devlish agenda she’s breathing will not go on unnoticed. Pastor Lewis spoke about living satan alone if you want him to leave you alone. This would agree much more with T F Jakes n other celebrity preachers are doing. Saints, they seem to be working on our emotional side and believe me it works. We need the Holy Spirit to give us discernment as these prominent people usher their way through this movement of supplying the world with a image of Christ. I guess I can only hope that they would get saved for real. Doesn’t the the bible say that those who desire to live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution? Didn’t Jesus say the world will hate us because of Him? Oprah said she has respect for all faiths. But didn’t Paul tell us in Galatians that if anyone or an angel from heaven preaches another gospel different from what he preached, that person is cursed?(Amplified: devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment) The other faiths deny that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Didn’t Jesus say that if we deny Him before men, He will deny us before His Father Who is in heaven? Oprah said what she is talking about is not faith or religion, but spirituality. Doesn’t the bible say the just shall live by faith? Jesus said if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, we can tell a mountain to move. The bible tells us to take up the shield of faith. Hebrews ch.11 is all about people of faith. Jesus said to have faith in God. Faith is a fruit of the Spirit. Paul said that “I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.” The blessing of Abraham is justification through faith in Jesus Christ. It is written in Galatians 3:26 that we are all children of God (notice it did not say Christians here, Christian is mentioned 3 times in the kjv) through faith in Jesus Christ. James said the prayer of faith will heal the sick James ch.5. Jesus told Peter that He prayed for him, that his faith will not fail. I didn’t even scratch the surface, but faith is spiritual, faith is all some of our persecuted brothers and sisters have in other countries. The part when she talks about tolerance, acceptance, cooperation….John the Baptist was beheaded for calling out sin, Isaiah the prophet was sawed in two for calling out sin, Stephen the first martyr was stoned, every apostle who walked with Christ was martyred except for Judas(hung himself after betrayal) & John(they tried to kill John, correct me if I’m wrong), Paul was beheaded, Luke was also martyred. Jesus said “I didn’t come to bring peace but a sword”, “a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household”. John7:7, Jesus said that the world cannot hate you (His brothers), but it hated Him because He testified that its works are evil. How can I respect all faiths that include child sacrifice, same sex marriage, multiple wives, and denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? I won’t respect those faiths.

Thank you Holy Spirit! I see right through Oprah’s lie! “Own” network is not doing well with it’s programs so oprah is trying to find a way to get the “christian woman” back to watching her.. But, a true Christian will know God’s words, and the Bible says you can’t mix our Holy God with every other pro-fane religion that sprouts up.. (Lev. 22:32) I agree with the others, Oprah is being used to set up the NWO agenda to try and clump the christian faith right in with the rest, with this “spiritual love mess”.. We True Christians believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, so Oprah having a show with eight different religions on it, is not glorifying our Lord and Savior, but it is ushering in the “one religion” order.. A True Christian would not have a tv show to sit and possibly watch countless lost souls march right into hell, for the sake of tolerance! God forbid! Church please Wake-Up!!!!

Deepak Chopra is incredibly antagonistic against Christ and Christianity. I’ve read part of one of his books (I had to stop reading b/c it so blatantly anti-Christ) and watched him in a debate with a couple Christians where he was so cruel he had the woman opponent (Christian) in tears. While I haven’t seen this program, Chopra was a guest on the Oprah show numerous times. Not once did Oprah defend the Christian faith or Christ when he was there. She might feign doing so, but always ended up agreeing with Chopra and encouraging her audience to think like him. It’s one thing to give people the opportunity to hear a different viewpoint, it’s another to align yourself with someone who so openly hates the One who you profess to love. And Chopra is one of many who have the anti-Christ spirit and yet Oprah is BFFs with.
Just because someone says “I am a Christian” does not mean they’ve placed their trust in or submitted to Jesus as Savior and Lord. It’s like saying “I was raised in the church”. And? The bottom line is all it takes is coming out with the proclamation of “I am a Christian” and you’re automatically in the “church” club. Now all the “Christians” who are sometimes smart enough not to follow someone who is obviously an unbeliever, will devote their lives to serve and defend this new “believer”. The BCNN may be right. Oprah’s “next chapter” may be to lead millions to faith… the question is faith in what? Oprah’s been pretty clear on this. Her agenda isn’t to lead people to Christ, but away from him. And what better way to do it than to pretend to be of him.

Jesus told His disciples that the world would hate them even as it had hated Him. The more popular or well liked a Christian is by the World, it indicates a compromising of that Christian’s walk in Christ. Oprah is well liked by millions, and it is not based on a strong stance in Christ Jesus. God is not the author of confusion, but order. His Word not added to or taken away from is what has been missing because it would not satisfy the itching ears of the world.
We are pilgrims through this land and it is not our home. We are in the world but not of it. We are to be separated distinctly showing a difference between light and darkness. The closer we get to our Lord Jesus Christ, we become more like Him. This will coincide with having less friends, being less popular, than when we were in the world.
Someday the Son of God will crack the sky and I am not willing to be lukewarm, not knowing when that day will be. Let us not be named among those who are of the great falling away. Much Love and Peace, Keith

Now if I am to take this simply statement alone to make a sound comparison with the word of God, then in my mind I would truly be reminded just like Nicodemus (St. John 3) to be born again. Too many of us as ‘Christians” are losing soundness in the word and it is surely our judge for life until Christ returns. Regardless of what we think or deem best, it does not qualify us in any ‘good’ way to be righteous before God, unless we come through Christ. Many confess Christ, will continue to do so, but at the end of it all we will still here… “Not many of you who say Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven…” Matthew 7:15-23. Please do not get ensnared in the age of deception, for many are led therein without having a soundness of faith in Christ alone.

The above quote says it all as far as I am concerned. This is not the CHRISTIAN GOD, because where is our Lord JESUS CHRIST in all of this? What do ‘spirituality’ and ‘spiritual love’ have to do with us (the only thing we have is through the HOLY SPIRIT and if you are using the HOLY SPIRIT then SAY SO) in the Christ. If you are versed in all these inclusionist witchcraft doctrine you will know that this has nothing to do with God’s POWER. If you are Christain you won’t move with people like Deepak Chopra, because all that stuff is not of God- PERIOD.

Oprah’s treasures are HERE and so is her HEART. The Devil is using her to pollute the temples of the less spiritual Christians, so that the Holy Spirit will flee from them.
2 Cortinthians 6 verse 14-17:

We as Christians must COME OUT! My brothers and sisters whether you like it or not we are in the LAST DAYS. If you are a christian and there is no difference between you and the people of the world, then I am sorry but you have been compromised. When was your last vision or message from God? Are you demonstrating the POWER of God? Because as long as you aren’t a baby in Christ (new to the faith), you should be.

I just hope all the people who have these harsh tones on this page are actually taking that strong a stance for Christ in their spheres of influence! We love to jump on the bandwagon, but I hope all these “sayers” are also “doers” as well. Oprah has the most influence I’ve seen in my lifetime! Scripture admonishes us to judge earthly matters (1Corinthians 6), however, God’s #1 agenda is souls! So, serious and devout Christians (Christ followers) SHOULD accept invitations to speak with her in order to share the light of the Word. C’mon people… if you commanded the type of audience T.D. Jakes does, and Oprah invited you, you’d more than likely go too. Or, you should! Even Paul said he’d been obligated, or a debtor to Greeks and non-Greeks…. one version even says “to barbarians”. If we have the same spirit, then we shouldn’t have a problem sharing the gospel with those that “speak a different language” or, are foreign to our culture… as long as the gospel doesn’t change! Romans 1:15 sounds like Paul wouldn’t have been able to contain himself until he got on the set w/ Oprah to share the gospel w/ her. I didn’t see the show w/ Jakes (I don’t watch OWN), but if he spoke in line w/ scripture, then what is your offense? I have listened to Jakes teach many times, and I haven’t heard a heretic thing yet! I’m not saying what he’s never done, but if he preaches heresy, I’ve never heard it. I believe God is shaking up the industry (music, tv, broadcasters, radio/tv programmers, etc), and many whom were closed to Him will find themselves seeking Him. I don’t know if that’s Oprah right now, but I DEFINITELY would not exclude her!

Why is it that when it comes to these celebrities & gospel artists (especially gospel artists), the Christians who idolize them always say ‘don’t judge’ or ‘stop being judgemental’ when they get involved with some non-sense? I’m really starting to see that more often now. Its like they’re being blinded by the foolishness of their idols, then when a real Christian that stands for holiness exposes it, they get mad. They don’t want you to say anything when these people are out of order. But I’m really getting tired of Oprah, T.D. Snakes, Creflo ‘I Worship The’ Dollar, Joel Osteen, etc. Mainstream Gospel is getting out of hand but that’s what’s expected when you’re messing around in Satan’s Playground, trying to become famous & gain riches.

In all honesty, when I look at Oprah these days I kinda feel sorry for her; and I’ve felt this way for quite some time now. I sometimes find myself reflecting back on her career and the humble ‘woman next door’ who sat on the anchor’s desk in Baltimore. Wow, what a difference a hairstyle, niptuck, and millions makes. smh.
Aside from all of the “New Age” philosophical, witchcraft tinged, elitists’ mumbo-jumbo that she’s been spewing into the lives of vulnerable ‘christian’ women for years, I still see a woman with a major deficit: she’s steadily gaining weight (despite having the best nutritionists at her fingertips), her weary face has been showing signs of fatigue coupled with heavy bags under her eyes. I would almost bet that her body has some medical alerts going on inside. She has a man who’s been at her side for years yet he hasn’t married her b/c he doesn’t want to lose his identity (EGO) and become Mr. “Winfrey.” It’s not her it’s HIM. So she’s been forced to settle and just go along with the fantasy. Wow, the Devil can’t wait to cash in on all of its receipts.
My comments are not to dismiss or make light of the demonic influence that’s going on and the power this woman holds; nor the allegiance she so willingly sowed into. But I would like to take this time to pray for the many innocent people who ARE caught up or should I say entranced under the spell of the “Church of Oprah.” May God give them insight and revelation to break the bondage of ignorance and expose the enemy for what it is.

In the end we all have to know Jesus Christ for ourselves. I can not judge her but what I can do is make sure I am living right and teaching my son about God, Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit. I have to make sure the folks I am around (work, school, neighbors) know about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lovingand serving God is a free-will choice. Because she lives her life in front of us, we can pick it apart. Has she ever claimed to be a minister of God? I take what she says with a grain of salt. We have to be careful how we judge others because we will be judged by God in that same manner. I will continue to pray for her when I read these articles…

The first line of defense is always for the Celebrity, why is that?
