Actor Jamie Foxx recently had some extremely favorable words for President Barack Obama — words that are typically reserved for church sermons and personal prayers. The Oscar winner made his curious statements about the nation’s commander-in-chief at the Soul Train Music Awards, which aired on Sunday. During an on-stage appearance, he referred to Obama as “our lord and savior.”
Considering that many have quipped about Obama’s standing among his supporters — celebrities in particular — as a deity of sorts, this statement, though likely said in jest, is surely going to make its rounds.
“First of all, give an honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama,” Foxx proclaims in the clip.
Newsbusters reports that the actor’s words were used as a preview by BET, the network that aired the Soul Train Music Awards, leading up to the event. Conservative blogger Noel Sheppard wrote, in response to Foxx’s words, “I guess Obama really IS the messiah.”

Religious groups are blasting President Obama for not condemning am anti-Christian art display set to appear in New York City and one Republican lawmaker said he is “fed up with the administration’s double standard and religious hypocrisy.
“Piss Christ,” once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine.”
The artwork debuted in 1989 and was funded through prize money provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. The art gallery hosting the retrospective salute to Andres Serrano is privately owned.
Religious groups and some lawmakers have already started sounding off – and making comparisons to the controversy over a recent anti-Muslim film. The low budget movie “Innocence of Muslims” sparked violent and deadly clashes across the globe.
It also brought strong rebukes, condemnations and apologies from President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a host of administration officials.

After reading some of the comments defending Jamie’s actions, it’s only obvious that they are not recognizing the trick of the enemy. Because satan can’t appear personally yet to perform his demonic destruction, he uses people to carry out the hits for him. Knowingly or unknowingly, Jamie was being used by the devil to blaspheme against our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the ruler of the darkness in this world. As children of the Most High, we are in this world, but not of this world. Even though these things must come to past, we still need to take a stand. Seems to me, the problem is many Christians, though they profess their faith in God, they are afraid of the persecutions that goes along with it. Society and the goverment has pretty much put a muzzle on a lot of us, and the people of God is not fighting back. After David and all the men in his camp returned to find their wives and children had been taken captive by the enemy, he consulted the Lord and He told him to pursue, for he would surely overtake them, and recover without fail. Those of you who know the story, know that the Amalekites were destroyed and David recovered all. It’s time for us to stand and unite as one body in Christ, then pursue and recover all. Not only because of the comment made by Jamie Foxx. but also for all the other rights we have been or could possibly be stripped of.

I didn’t see the award show but have read the comments and it’s sad because some Christians believe that as long as you’re not judgemental and you show love always remembering that you once were lost is all you need to be “god-like”. But just as God is love, he is a God of war. We sit on our hands and pray and think that God will handle everything. Faith without works is dead and things are going to hell b/c we aren’t doing anything. We have dominion in the earth and it’s past time we stop giving satan everything. The violent take it by force. God said to hate what he hates. We can’t be one-sided. Every group stands up for something no matter how wrong and is winning. I see some of your point Mrs. Gray (to pray for them) but I agree with everyone else bc 1. too many ppl (saved and unsaved) say that Christians judge too much but they fail to see that God expects righteous judgment. You see, we can’t just sit back and say nothing or do nothing (faith without works is dead); it is our responsibility as true believers to lead this world while we are praying. All of us who gave our hearts to Christ did so on the basis that we need a savior bc we were walking and talking darkness. 2. The bible speaks about foolish talking and God certainly didn’t applaud it. I tell so many folks who aren’t saved why is it that they point fingers at believers when we correct them? I ask them what is the difference when they correct someone. Truth be told when believers open their mouth in holy judgment, folks just can’t deal with it and say we are judging. To me why then should we correct our children or why should there be laws? We have sat back and been silent for too long. So yes, pray for him bc his soul is hanging in the balance. Yet still we are to speak if not we run the danger of more ppl being fooled and many are going to hell bc not enough is being said. In these days and times we can not afford to be quiet bc the devil is using even foolish words like what Mr. Fox said to deceive folks by hardening their hearts. We are responsible for speaking real LOUD.

I totally agree about praying for him, but he was totally wrong and should be corrected. The Bible tells us to pray for our enemies. Jesus did it, why can’t His disciples (us). The Lord Jesus told me sometime ago that satan use jokes to deceive many. . We see it on TV all the time. We laugh at people that do the same thing the people of Sodom and Gomorah did. I do pray for Jamie’s soul to be changed because satan is using him to deceive many with jokes. There is always a time to pray. When is there never a time to pray. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Pray about everything. Let’s not become separate about this topic; just do what the Word of God says to do.
