Brandy and Ray J release gospel ballad “Talk To Me” featuring parents Willie and Sonja Norwood

Source: hollywoodgiants.com

The newest Brandy single, “Talk To Me,” is the first track from the upcoming Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business album recorded by the Norwood family. The full album will be released in early 2011 and brings Brandy’s family into the recording studio together for the very first time.

Brandy and Ray J and their parents Willie and Sonja Norwood are all featured on “Talk To Me.” A ballad that combines Brandy’s voice and Ray J’s neo-soul with Willie Norwood’s soulful vocals, “Talk To Me” was written and produced by Scott “Shavoni” Parker (Patti LaBelle, Cece Winans, Michelle Williams) and co-written by Tommy Niblack (Monica).

“Talk To Me” is being released just prior to the start of a new season of the VH1 reality television show, “Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business”.

Here is a clip of their upcoming new reality show where Brandy consults a tarot card reader.

2 Kings 17:16-17

16And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

17And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

I wonder why Brandy couldn’t consult the Godfather of her child. Afterall, Noel Jones has his own dating website. But then again counseling from him would probably make matters even worse.

Disclaimer: Very poor quality

Just think some Christians will continue to support this in spite of. SMH

Legendary Hip Hop artist Kurtis Blow has come forth to deny reports that he was busted for weed. The 51 year-old rapper turned minister, took to his Twitter to make his statement, in which he stated that it was not true and TMZ is bugging.

Kurtis Blow also said, “Isn’t weed legal in California?”

The hip hop pioneer who’s most known for his rap song “The Breaks” seemed to be tickled that he has gotten over 500 Twitter followers since the story.

Kurtis Blow was allegedly given a violation ticket due to being ‘busted’ with less than an ounce of weed by the new TSA scanners, as reported on HipHopRx.com.

Meanwhile E! news reports that an airport spokesperson backs the story, and says the TSA pat-down procedure found the weed.

Report: Ugly Betty Actor Murdered Mother with Samurai Sword

Us Magazine

Source: omg.yahoo.com

Ugly Betty actor Michael Brea is accused of killing his mother with a samurai sword while screaming passages from the Bible, CBS News and other outlets reported Tuesday. Citing police reports, TMZ says that Michael cut off the head of mother Yannick Brea, 55.

Brea, 31, is said to have gone on a religious rant, commanding his mother to “repent” before stabbing her to death in their Brooklyn, New York home.

Police told NY1 that Michael was holding a Bible when police arrived on the scene.

A neighbor, Gregory Clarke, told WPIX he overheard the melee. “I hear the brother chasing her [his mother] through the house and he’s just saying a bunch of like [Bible] passages like, ‘Repent, Repent, Repent.’”

The Haitian-American actor has appeared on Ugly Betty as well as Step-Up 3-D. Following the police’s grisly discovery, he was arrested and taken to Kings County Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

“I would say he was a down-to-earth, cool. hard working person,” another neighbor told NY1 of the actor. “I couldn’t see this coming at all.”

Side note: Michael Brea appeared in the movie Step it Up 3D??? The is the movie based on Krump dancing. It is a demonic form of dance in which Krumpers claim is a way to salavation by the “holy spirit” taking over their body while they are krumping. DUMB.

Sword-swinging ‘Ugly Betty’ actor Michael Brea slays mother for being ‘sinner,’ police sources say

Convinced his church-going mom was possessed by Satan, a Scripture-spouting killer hacked her to death with a 3-foot sword as she knelt in their apartment, police sources said.

Deranged killer Michael Brea “told the doctors that he saw the Devil, and that the Devil was somehow in his mother,” a police source told the Daily News after the gruesome slaying.

Neighbors insisted the brutal killing of Yannick Brea early Tuesday occurred as police ignored their desperate demands to kick in the dying woman’s front door.

Yannick Brea, 55, was found kneeling – as if offering a final prayer – after she was butchered during her son’s demented diatribe about repentance, police said.

“Sinner! Sinner!” howled Michael Brea, a bit-part actor who once appeared on “Ugly Betty,” neighbors and police sources said. “You never accepted Jesus!”

The suspect, still in full “fire and brimstone” babble when carried out on a stretcher, was clutching his Bible and a Masonic ceremonial sword when cops busted into a bedroom, police sources said.

“He yelled, ‘The greatest architect in the universe!’ ” – a term sometimes used by Masons for God – while he was being taken away, said neighbor Sydney Clare, 15. “He looked crazy.”

“His poor mother must have been terrified, and the cops just stood a few feet away,” said Sydney’s brother, Gregory, one of several residents who vainly begged police to burst inside.

Neighbors said the cops stood outside the door for close to an hour – and even left the scene at one point – before finally entering.

They discovered the victim with multiple gashes to her head inside the blood-spattered bathroom.

Sydney, whose father owns the building, said his dad gave four cops permission to break down the front door.

“They just kept saying protocol this and protocol that,” Sydney added. “Now a woman’s dead who should be alive if only the police would have listened.”

Brea’s uncle said his nephew, 31, apparently took the ceremonial sword with him while leaving a Masons meeting late Monday night. A rattled Martial Brea said his nephew was typically a smart, quiet man.

“Something happened that made him do it,” the uncle told The News. “The Devil entered him.”

The swords – typically stainless steel blades with short, black grips – sell online for about $280.

Police received three 911 calls in four minutes after neighbors in the four-story Prospect Heights building heard Michael Brea’s high-decibel harangue and his mother’s shrieks for help.

“Her screams woke me up,” said one neighbor. “Screams I’ll never forget.”

Ugly Betty Actor: I “Killed the Demon” Inside My Mom

Source: usmagazine.com

Days after Michael Brea was arrested for decapitating his mother with a samurai sword Tuesday, the one-time Ugly Betty actor has opened up about how the chilling murder unfolded.

“I didn’t kill her. I killed the demon inside her,” Michael, 31, told the New York Daily News from the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital. “It was the work of God.”

Before slaying his 55-year-old mother, Yannick Brea, Michael claims he had several visions that left him no other choice.

“I was sleeping in my bedroom. God came above my bed and reached his arm to me,” he remembered. “I said, ‘God, is my time on earth over?’ I heard a voice say, ‘Yes Michael, today is your last day.’”

Keeping the dream to himself, Michael says he was given another sign when a man put a curse on him at the Prince Hall Masonic Temple in Harlem, which he’d joined a week earlier.

“[He] kept trying to put something in my hand but wouldn’t show it to me. I kept opening my hand. It was a Freemason pin. I wouldn’t touch it,” he said.

While riding the subway train to Brooklyn, Michael said strangers began approaching him to speak about his mother.

“I felt like Neo from The Matrix. I began hearing voices and feeling powerful,” Michael said. “They were asking about the difference between mom and mother. It was a sign.”

When he arrived at the family’s Prospect Heights apartment, Michael recalled hugging Yannick because “I knew I would never see her again.”

Michael then entered his bedroom and lit candles before placing a dagger and a 3-foot ceremonial Freemason sword by his side (investigators believe he stole the sword from the Masonic lodge, which Michael denies).

Shortly after, Yannick knocked on Michael’s door and asked her son for help in the kitchen.

“I looked at these chickens lying dead in the pot and a voice told me it was a sacrifice. It was black magic,” Michael said. He left the uncooked chickens in the pot and retreated back to his bedroom.

When his mother asked why he wasn’t doing what she asked, Michael claims she spoke with a different voice.

“She had the voice of the demon. I opened the door with the dagger at my side and the sword,” he said. “I asked, ‘Do you believe in God?’ She said, ‘No, Michael no,’ and began screaming. I began slashing her like this,” the actor explained while slamming his right hand down in a violent hacking motion.

He then chased his mother from room to room, leaving a trail of blood throughout the house.

“I didn’t want to kill her right away,” he explained. “I wanted to give her time to get right with God.”

Not too long after, police had arrived outside the family’s apartment, but Michael “knew they wouldn’t open the door and stop me because the spirits were protecting me. I just kept cutting her. No one could stop me. I was doing the work of God.”

By the time police made it inside, they found a bloody trail of footprints and handprints on the walls and floors; Yannick was on her knees in the bathroom while Michael stood with the sword in one hand and Masonic Bible in the other.

“I heard voices telling me how powerful I was, saying ‘Oh he’s good,’” Michael said, adding that he feels no remorse for murdering his mother. “I was praising God. To you it might sound silly, but in my culture demons are very real.”

Off to a fresh start: Tye Tribbet disses his father for the sake of album sales?!

Tye Tribbet Discusses His ‘Fresh’ New CD and Other Issues

‘My father had committed adultery and at the time I said that I would never do something like that.’
By Ricardo Hazel

*Tye Tribbet has been performing in the group Greater Anointment (G.A.) since 1996. The former Camden, New Jersey native is quite the musician. In fact his musical stylings are so polished that he is often accused of not being a gospel musician at all. His sound has been called Hip-Hop, Pop and everything in between.

“Growing up I definitely was not allowed to listen to secular music, but I was exposed to the culture,” Tribbet told our Lee Bailey. “You can’t help but hear it when you go to the mall. You can’t help when you’re exposed to it because of the culture. Each generation has their own sound, it’s just the sound of that culture. So, I can’t help but be a part of the culture I’m born in. Of course, I snuck out and listened to whatever I wanted to listen to, but the bulk of my musical influence is gospel. I listened to a lot of progressive gospel music and the people who got in trouble for doing it the way they were doing it back in the day.

“I believe we can only present it the way God gave it to us,” he continued. “I listened to the Yellow Jackets, which is a jazz group, Weather Report, which is another jazz group. I drowned myself in those two groups when I finally broke free. Chick Corea? All day! That’s me all day! I actually got exposed that in school. I was exposed to jazz in high school and my homework was these artists. I was like ‘Mom, I know you all are against it, but I have to do my homework.’ I just love the musicianship of it.”

Though Tye Tribbet’s first solo effort is titled “Fresh,” with Hip-Hop graffiti styled lettering on the cover, he takes some offense when his music is called Hip-Hop. (Scroll down to listen to the title track.)

“To me, when you look at Hip-Hop and look at my music I think it’s as different as night and day, but people listen to my presentation and they want to call it Hip-Hop,” said Tribbet. “See, I couldn’t sing so I was always like the hype man ‘Put you hands up! Yeah, yeah!’ So, that’s seen as Hip-Hop to people. I’m not rapping. The energy, the dancing and my presentation put me into the Hip-Hop category. I’ve never done Hip-Hop. I understand why they say it. However, it is not! It’s ‘progressive praise’ I guess! I don’t know what it is. I’m doing more singing so I guess people will be trying to put me into the R&B category now.”

Though Tribbet did appear to become slightly agitated at the idea of not truly being considered gospel, he told EURweb.com that he enjoys being hard to peg even if his label has a hard time with it.

“I don’t think it’s frustrating more than it’s confusing,” said Tribbett. “If you listen to R&B you can see it’s not that, if you listen to jazz you can see it’s not that, and if you listen to straight praise and worship you can tell it’s not that. But I think it has elements of all that in there and that’s what kind of frustrates my label. They’re like ‘Man, what is this? Man, we don’t know how to market this.’ I don’t know how to describe it either. Everyone of my CDs sounds like a mixtape. Like my pastor used to say: the Kingdom of God is not this or that, it’s this and that. You will find this and that in the Kingdom of God, and in my music.”

Though he is widely known as the lead man for the gospel group Greater Anointment (G.A.), he tells Lee Bailey that things have changed … but not really.

“I’m not with G.A. anymore, but I have my own group which includes some singers from group G.A. I’m not going out as Tye Tribbet and G.A. anymore. It’s just Tye Tribbet. I just dropped the ‘and G.A.’”, he informed us. “Solo, to me, is just somebody that’s up on stage by themselves with a couple of singers off to the side, in the back. That’s not me. I still have my group presentation. We’re still a group. Some people look as me being solo, but I can’t see myself on stage like Smokie Norful, by myself, on stage, with a piano. That’s just not me. I’ll always have my crew. It’s not the big ol’ MC Hammer-style 200 people anymore. It’s not that anymore, I had so many people on the stage with me at one time, but now it’s a scaled down version for a lot of different reasons.”

A “lot of different reasons?” Hmm, whatchoo talkin’ ’bout Wills?

“Last year I took a sabbatical. My pastor recommended that I take a sabbatical. I shut everything down because I had gotten out of pocket with God, with my wife, with my family and everything was just in disarray. I didn’t have a handle on anything, at all!”

Often times solutions, despite our best intentions, lead to other problems. Though his intentions were pure, pressing the reset button on his life caused yet another problem.

“To go back to the root, my mother and father had gotten a divorce right when I got married,” he explained. “I know these days the word divorce comes right after saying hello, but for me being raised like I was, it was just a big shock to me. My father had committed adultery and at the time I said that I would never do something like that. Then I made my mother my manager, and I put my family in G.A. I was setting up an accountability system to make sure that would never happen to me. Nobody on the outside could ever say Tye ever flirted with them or took it too far or touched them the wrong way. However, I fell to the same sin from the inside of my camp and destroyed my marriage.”

To add insult to injury, his wife Shante Tribbett is in the group as well and likely knew the individual Tye committed adultery with. But once again Tye turned to his pastor for advice.

“I said ‘Ohmigoodness.’ I don’t know what’s about to become of me, I don’t know what’s about to become of the relationship with my children,” said Tribbet. “I’ve seen this before. I was having suicidal thoughts daily, taking the punk way out. So, I turned to my pastor and asked him to walk me through the process of restoration, walk my wife through the process of restoration. Long story short, we’re back together and stronger than ever. My family is restored and my career is in order now. I put a lot of things in perspective that were out of order.”

And the rest, as they say, is history. Recently Tye has been making his media rounds and has appeared on BET and in magazines and other news outlets. In talking with him Tye we find a man. Not a perfect man, but a man all the same who is trying to move on with his life.

Tye stop dragging your family into your interviews. Own up to your sin and move on with your life! GOOOOOODNESS!!!!!!!-Bobby
